Romantic Gifts For Your Boyfriend

I'm a freelance writer trying to defy the millennial stereotype through hard work. Joy is in the little things.

It often seems like it's incredibly simple to find a romantic gift for a woman. There is no end to the variety of jewelry, flowers, stuffed animals, and chocolates in the stores. Not to mention you can always take her out to her favorite restaurant. However, I’m sure I’m not the only one who has struggled to figure out what to do for a man for an anniversary, Valentine’s Day, or any other romantic gift. Most guys aren’t into overly romantic gifts such as bouquets and teddy bears, and this can make a holiday that revolves around romance difficult. Here are some romantic gift ideas for your man to help you out with that dilemma.

Romantic, Not Sappy

Just because your guy may not be into getting totally over-the-top, mushily romantic gifts doesn’t mean he won’t appreciate a little romantic thought going into his gift. Make him a picture frame with photos of you two throughout your relationship, or a scrapbook of your significant dates together. If you’re good with words, write him something sentimental about your feelings for him, or what having him in your life means to you. There’s nothing wrong with being sentimental or romantic, as long as you don’t go overboard.

Card Making

If you’re the crafty type, you can make him a card . There are many ideas out there for cards that are geared towards men; a simple Google search will give you tons of starting points for making a card that he will appreciate, but won’t make him cringe for it’s mushiness.

Spice It Up

The advice I have gotten most often from guys that I discuss this topic with is to buy yourself something sexy to wear for your guy. Whether it be themed, or just something you think makes you look good, he’s sure to enjoy it seeing you look your best, knowing you picked out your ensemble with only him in mind.

You Can Never Go Wrong With Food

Another great gift idea for your guy is to make him something edible. There are many different desserts, such as cakes, cookies, and chocolates, which can be made heart-shaped fairly easily. There are tutorials online on how to turn various savory foods, such as bacon, into roses or hearts. They make heart shaped pans for breakfast foods such as eggs, so that you can make your guy breakfast in bed that is still themed towards the holiday.

Have A Nice Night In

If cooking is the direction you are thinking about going for your gift, you can go all out and offer to take control of the holiday. While going out can be nice, staying in can be equally as romantic, and is less expensive as well. Make the two of you a nice dinner, light some candles and find a nice bottle of wine, and either make or buy a special dessert, so that the two of you can enjoy your holiday together without facing the crowds at the restaurants, and with a meal that you know you will both enjoy.
