Some engaged couples can get occupied with the the wedding planning and the courtship that the real everyday life after the wedding and honeymoon is not discussed. Here are some books to help couples start out their new life right.

You can gain a lot from book just by the title of the book. The authors of this book are Les Parrott III and Leslie Parrott. They are a husband and wife team, therapist, clinical psychologist who believe in helping others build strong marriages. They have been through the ups and downs of marriage and share their journey in this book. There are two editions of this book.

This book is really big help for engaged couples, newlyweds, and even married couples to examine any of their faulty ideas of what marriage will be like, determining realistic and unrealistic expectations of each partner and day to day things in a marriage.

One thing I love about this book is in the midst of enjoying being in love, we do not want to blindsided to reality of marriage with all the great things as well as challenging times.

This book also gives you tips:

  • Teaching you to learn to address issues before you encounter them,
  • Keys to resolving conflicts,
  • Three important things to having a lasting love
  • Rules in the relationship,

Can you identify your love style? and you have to read the entire book to get the rest of the questions to ask before and after you marry. There is also a revised version based that the authors wrote based on their experiences with couples on a professional basis

You have to learn to speak your partner's love language. Learn what these love languages are and it will help you understand your partner in a better way.

For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn & For Men Only by Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn

These are excellent books for newlyweds and engaged couples. As couples who are starting out their lives, these books can help each spouse understand one another so they can better communicate.

First, For Women Only, Shaunti Feldhahn did extensive research on men to help women to understand what’s actually taking place in the hearts and minds of men, how different they think from women, what respect means to them and not respecting them and many more important issues. It helps women to understand her spouse better and so she can fulfill his needs.

Secondly, in For Men Only, show how women think differently and what they need from their husbands, specific things a man needs to do when she is sharing an emotional problems, how emotional security is important than financial security and other great things that may shock a man about women.
