Will You?

Will you walk through the fire with me?

Not caring how hot it will be,

Not concerned with the scars it shall leave,

Will you walk through the fire with me?

Till Death Do Us Part?

Soles barely touching the heat,

So naive, so silly, so free,

@Shauna: Hello, dear friend - it's soo nice to see you! Never worry about what you do or do not read of mine..

i understand completely about the gun issue - i don't exactly love writing them either..lol..

i just came back to read this one - for the first time in a long time, and - it made me remember i used to be able to say a lot with so few words..

this is one of - welllllll - ONE love poems..

      LOL..

      tickled that you enjoyed!

Leslie, this is awesome! I almost forgot what a fabulous poet you are. I must admit I've not read your gun conrol hubs because I just hate the subject and get inundated with it by my retired USAF father. But your poetry I just adore!

@DanaTeresa: i see nothing resembling rambling! You and i...understand each other...Dana...i've felt it almost -- but not quite- from the first we met...

I saw your comment to Tillsontitan about this being written as a bdsm style poem. I think it is pretty obvious when you read it it really is a perfect expression of bdsm feelings.... I have a friend (former coworker) that I share a weird bond with. At times he is like my big brother, other times I am like his mother. We have an intmate understanding of each other, partly I think because we are both bipolar and a little twisted. I would think something, he would say it. We also screwed around for a while (lucky me) and it was very bdsm. Anyway, the point is, I have always felt like I would walk through fire for him, with him.... It is some sort of weird devotion I cannot describe. It goes beyond love.

Apologies for the rambling. This works just as well as a romantice love poem. I think because when you are rally in love, you have that same inexplicble devotion (minus the twisted stuff, or not!)

Thanks for this. It brings up some awesome feelings. I could read it a million times. :)

I have been fortunate to not only walked through the fire, been burned, singed and crumbled to ashes a few times. I also was gifted by two people in my life who went to Hell and back with me and lived to tell about it. If we can count on one single hand in our lifetime the number of closest friends or lovers that would walk through the fire for us or with us, then we are truly blessed.

I hope you have found that soul mate who has felt the heat with you and been tested and baptized in the fires with you and both are still together. Peace and blessings to you my poetic friend. Voted Up awesome and beautiful.
