Your First Love

Updated on May 26, 2012

Love Interrogated

You woke up one day, went about your daily business and by sundowner, you were in love. Today, you still recall the events that happened on that particular day. How did you feel?

Many couples have lots of stories to tell relating to their meetings with their first love. Do you remember your first thoughts, feelings, emotions and experience?

Listening to lovers narrating their personal experiences about their first encounter gives a flashback into the type of background that forged their present love lives. It is often thrilling to re-live through these experiences. Most couples claim that these memories endear them to their loved ones more. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if your entire life was filled up with those first love emotions?

Later on during our sunset years, we cannot help browsing through the past and attempting to reconnect our present lives with how it was then. We can still see our loved ones in the light of those days. Do you ever try to recall that day’s happenings later in life?

How often have you taken a look at your spouse or fiancé/fiancée and replayed that meeting in your mind?

Such are the emotions that help keep relationships fired up five, ten, twenty years later in one’s life. They draw couples together by cementing their love and hence, a healthy relationship towards marriage. Reminiscing about the past helps in keeping a marriage together. It could even be the reason why many couple are not only married, but still in love with each other deep into their marriage.

Many couples claim to have experienced love at first sight on sighting their present spouses.

Do you mind sharing your first LOVE experiences?

The Union

    Hi racksjackson,

It is nice to know that you met your first love when studying just like me. Unlike your seven year courtship, we got married after five years.

You are right in all the three vital aspects in a successful relationship.

Understanding ones feelings is paramount. Many a marriage have broken due misunderstanding.

As you say, trust for each other strenghtens love among couples.

Communication opens up each others deeper thoughts enabling the couple to relate better.

I wish many couples would follow these simple rules to ward off divorce. Thanks for passing by. Will look out for your articles too. Take care.

    Hi arthurchappell,

Yours seems to have been a brief encounter followed by a quick parting. How sad! I'm sure things would have been quite different had you been together longer.

I met my husband over 40 years ago in a bank. He was the friend of my supervisor. WE dated only 3 months then married in 1970. We have 2 wonderful children and wonderful memories. I knew he was the one right away, it was just different then other guys I had dated. He was more mature and very kind...still is.

    Great Hub Anjili

My first love was a lady with who I had a cruise ship romance in 1977, - we drifted apart a few weeks after we got home as we lived hundreds of miles apart and realized how little we'd see each other. I still miss her deeply.

Hi MermaidMoney. That is an interesting perspective and angle to attraction. Our sense of appeal tends to vary a lot especially when we consider the splendor that cloths the human body. Have you heard his perspective about what attracted you to him yet, or he kept it to himself?

I fell in love with him when I saw the back of his bald head from across a crowded classroom. LOL! I just knew from his energy that he was THE ONE. This was over 13 years ago and we have two wonderful children, who also enjoy hearing our little story. :)
