   Why couples write their names on tree’s trunks?
   
   This approach is not belongs to any color, creed, religion or race, but this a general tendency towards writing names on trunks of trees worldwide, which impulses behind this works?

   It's the idea that their names will be carved in the tree for eternity. Showing everyone that they will always be in love. I guess it would be nice to visit on occasion during your life, but harming a tree so you feel better about your emotions doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

   A couples romantic gesture, showing to the world their affection for each other in a public forum. I think trees where probably chosen because they are the easiest material to carve into. Rock carving would be more permanent and require a lot more effort.
   Maybe girls should ask their boyfriends to carve their signs of affection into rocks and give the poor trees a break.
