May I ask what the man was convicted of? Some things are unforgivable, of course: child victimization of any sort, rape, mass murder, and the like - serial arson, and so forth. We're not talking about a Charles Manson sort, or anyone like the Menedez brothers, are we?
I ask this as a starting point. I can "see" you're upset, and I would be too if my daughter were in such a position. Since you opened this subject up to the forum, and therefore, presumably want some help working through it, could we have some more details?
Perhaps - just perhaps - if we work through the details, we might (we just might) see that its not so bad. Lots of innocent people are framed or mistakenly convicted all the time. Maybe he wrote a few bad checks? If so, he must've been desperate.
Do you think your daughter "disowned" you all because of your immediate rejection of her man - (again, which is perfectly understandable under the circumstances)?
You know, begall, I am new to Hubpages and relatively new to blogging in general, but it strikes me that you must feel very close to this online community to share something like this.
