    I have a local man.  It doesn't make any sense to me to find someone from so far away... there is no way you could really know the person, and odds are they only want to marry you to get out of their country.  Doesn't sound like love to me.

    Neither? Technically my husband isn't foreign because he's from inside the US, but certainly not local...he was raised a big-city kid and then lived in Alaska for almost 20 years before coming to Wyoming to be with me. It may be the same country, but still a very different way of life than he's used to. However, considering some of the very old-fashioned ideas that are still prevalent here -- especially those dealing with the "proper role of women" -- I'm quite proud to tell people that I imported mine.
