    How can I keep devastation to a minimum for myself and my partner of 16 years while breaking up?

    Hi all, I have been living with my partner for 16, last weekend I told him I couldn't live with him anymore and that I am going to leave. The penny has finally dropped and although it hurts both of us I know it's for the best. The trouble is he seems to be in denial, asking me when my shifts are to work his shifts along with mine, asking if our friends should be invited for a visit etc. I have withdrawn all affection and am sleeping on the couch to show him I'm serious. I feel so bad doing this and will have to speak to him tonight about it. I'm finding this horrible and want to cause him as l

    Depending on how is he going to react, you have to be ready to answer. If jelous, he might blame the other guy..or so. You might use a text message if you want toa void confrontations. But you know so well the reasons behind it. If he knows he did you wrong or cheated, then he has to swallow his pride.
