Courtship preceeds marraige. It is after the couple has found out that they love each other passionately that plans for marriage can commerce. In Nigeria the traditional marriage where bridal price is paid is the first step. when this has been done the couple will go to the church they attend as register for marriage. They have to attend marraige lectures for a period of not less than three months, where they are taught how to have a happy marriage by the priests, pastors, or elders of the church who are happily marrried. The next stage is ceremony. Event organizers may be engaged to plan the details of the marriage or it can be done by the couple and their relations. arrangement for food, drinks, souvenirs will be made. Venue of the reception after the wedding in the church will be agreed and paid for. Chief bridesmaid for the lady and bestman for the man will be selected mostly from among friends. The waiter and waitresses will be arranged to take care of serving the entertainment. Master of Ceremony who will conduct the affairs in the reception nedd to be selected, in some cases paid for. After the reception it is time for honeymoon.
