There are two sorts of feminism. One that acknowledges the innate value of a woman as a unique human being with traits that make her unique and worthwhile, and acknowledges the value of femininity in contrast with masculinity. The second one seems self destructive, is fine with the commodification of women, fights for abortion rights even for mothers to abort their children because they are a female child. The second one is obviously an oversimplification of the position, eschewed by my own beliefs. However, I feel there is a need for feminism that cares for the whole woman.
I think it's sad that we're still discussing things like this, along with racism and gay marriage. These things should be a given in an 'advanced' civilization, yet people still desperately cling to this illusion that we aren't all equals with equal rights. So, instead of just accepting that women are people, we have this idiotic push towards feminism (a natural outcome of people not accepting this), and really, it's just energy being wasted that should never have to be spent in the first place.
