Today Homosexuality is talk about more openly than it was several years or decades ago, but guy's I just want to hear your opinion of what is being said at Romans 1:26, 27..Thanks!!!
It makes me think of Matthew 7:1 and causes me to sometimes wonder if Paul even knew Jesus.
In the U.S. we have separation of church and state.
Very few if any people live their life according to the bible.
Even those who claim to be Christians "cherry pick" which scriptures they will obey. Fornication is a sin and just about everyone does it!
Over the years people have used the bible to either justify their actions or condemn the actions of others. There is something for everyone.
However imagine if we really followed the biblical life style.
Exodus 35:2 "whosoever doeth work on sabbath shall be put to death."
Exodus 21:18
"Whoever curses his father or his mother shall be put to death"
In Numbers 31:17-18 Moses orders killing of men, women, and children.
"17 Now therefore kill every male {among the little ones}, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, {keep alive for yourselves}."
Now the real irony is these scriptures come AFTER Exodus 20:13
"Thou shalt not kill." Note: There's no asterisk next to the commandment.
As I stated earlier everyone "cherry picks" sections from the bible to which they will follow or ignore based upon their (own feelings).
There was a time when some Christians used bible verses to denounce interracial marriage and it was also against the law in several states up until 1967 when the Supreme Court struck down those laws in the trial of Loving VS Virginia. Up until then people could be jailed in some states!
As (Live to Learn) reminded us of Matthew 7:1
"judge not lest ye be judged..."
I swear there really is something in the bible for everyone!
Bottom line laws are designed to protect people's civil rights.
It's foolish to (justify discrimination) of people based upon their race, nationality, religion, age, gender, or sexual orientation.
What happens between two consenting adults is none of my business.
Life is a (personal) journey!
There's a nice you can talk about this stuff about. www.religiousforums.com Just watch your Ps and Qs, you'll be fine
I'm new. Do we debate here in these forums too?
How the bible defines homosexuality, it is a sin. I wouldn't know how else to describe it unless you are going by medical definition not scriptural.
My opinion is that if you have a hang ups about homosexuality you should keep them to yourself.
Homosexual members of the hubpages community should not have to put up with any threads denigrating them.

Exodus International, the notoriously vocal organization committed to the idea that gay people can change their sexual orientation is closing its doors and changing it's message. Along with the press release containing their decision to end their "ministry", the leader of Exodus has...

I kissed a nice lady on the cheek, I think my ears turned red. I felt all silly like a boy. I told my wife and she said she knew. And that the church ladies think I am funny. She pinched me on my non-existent butt and giggled. Then she yelled from the kitchen. RICK you do not love anyone but...

Do you think homosexuality is a choice

I'm not here for a fight, honestly. I am a Christian, but not a mainstream one, and certainly not a fundalmentalist. I can't imagine not being a spiritual person I love my spiritual life and only regret that I don't put more into it than I do. I have to say, that I'm not too...

Do you think homosexuality is a sin?My take is either you believe God's Word or not! If He calls it a sin, then it is a sin. Let me be clear, what I'm referring to is the Sin of homosexuality. That's what sin is isn't it. In general a sin is an ACT that violates a moral rule. So why is it that sooo...

At the risk of being bashed and stepped on here in the forums. I am curious as to why we spend our energy on discriminating and and opposing homosexuality.I am straight and I don't care if you are gay. However, many straight people seem almost obsessed with this. They make it an issue and I don;t...
