ARISE TO GREET THE MORNING AND THE SON

Updated on July 19, 2010

EASTER

Yesterday evening I was uber-excited waiting to watch my WVU Mountaineers play in the semi-finals of the NCAA tournament against the Duke Blue Devils. The game was not as competitive as I had hoped for and the Blue Devils prevailed against my Mountaineers.   I wish WVU had won the game but there are more important things to discuss on this Easter morning.

About the same time the basketball game was over I realized the time was about the same time as when my Lord and Savoir rose from the dead almost 2000 years ago in Israel. He had entered the city of Jerusalem in triumph one week prior to his being judged by mere humans as guilty of loving you and me so much that he was willing to sacrifice his own life for the entire human race.  I could not go and watch “The Passion of The Christ”. I couldn’t bear to see the depiction of Jesus body being scourged of all flesh. The cruelty of such an act is too horrible for me to watch. Then to add to the cruelty they hung him on a Cross. This horrid crucifixion was the ultimate punishment given to my Lord and Savior.

Today He lives again. Arise to greet the morning and the Son. Through His sacrifice you and every human on Earth can have life-everlasting. Jesus triumphs over death and he had a place for all of us. We can join in his triumph over death and share life. All we need to do is believe and ask forgiveness for our sins. I have seen many signs of the resurrection as the grass and flowers have returned to life this spring. The trees are alive again with their leaves and blossoms. The flowers have sprouted and are blooming in their beauty.  I hear the call of a wren and the song is pure beauty to my ears. All these signs renew my faith in Jesus and the promise of His ministry on Earth.

His entire ministry came down to this moment in time. The resurrection was the promise to all of us that if we believe in Jesus as our Savior we can overcome death and live forever with God the Father and Jesus. Arise and greet the sun and the Son this beautiful Easter morning. This is the ultimate moment of joy for Christians all over the world.

He arose, He arose Alleluia Christ arose!!!!!!!!!!
