OH,WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY

Updated on July 22, 2010

EASTER SUNDAY 2010

As I am sure you all know yesterday was Easter Sunday 2010. I don’t remember ever seeing a more beautiful day in my life.  Every fruit tree was in full blossom, and the Magnolia trees were just full of blossoms.  The sky was azure blue and the sun was brightly shining all day long. There was a slight breeze from the southwest and the 82-degree temperature was very welcome.  The spring flowers were in full bloom and I can’t remember seeing so much beauty at one time any other time in my entire lifetime.

BONUS GREAT TIME WITH MY FAMILY

I would have been a very happy man just to see the beautiful Easter, but I got a bonus. My daughter Jennifer and her children were coming down to be with me and I called my daughter Tracee in the morning to wish her a happy Easter. She had a turkey breast in the crock-pot and invited me to come up for dinner. I told her Jen was coming down and she said to ask her to come along there would be plenty.

I called Jen and she said it would be fine so she would come down early and we would go up to Tra’s together. I called Tra back and asked her if she was cooking any sides and she hadn’t started yet so I said I would go to Bella Via and Pick up Spaghetti and meatballs. I also went to Perkins and bough a Peanut Butter Dream pie for dessert.

HAIL, HAIL THE GANGS ALL HERE

When Jen, the grandchildren, and I arrived a Tracee’s house her mother–in-law, father-in law, and sister-in-law had shown up with her two children. We checked the amount of food and there was plenty for all. I tend to overdo it on food amounts as I cooked an entire leftover turkey one time on Thanksgiving Day. This is legendary in the family but I never wanted anyone to go away from my table hungry.

We had the best of all worlds a beautiful day, the love of family and the children drenching all of us with squirt guns the Easter Bunny had brought to them. We all started throwing glasses of water on one another and it was great. I thank God for this lovely event.

The only downer of the day was in learning my friend Susie broke her arm Saturday evening and missed most of the Mountaineer game. She’s going to see a surgeon today but I have faith she will be fine.

I was sure tuckered out last night but I slept like a baby
