Bad Religion- Is there such a thing?

Updated on October 2, 2012

What is the right thing to believe?

A crucial topic. RELIGION. What is the right thing to believe? We are in an era where everyday people live and die for their beliefs. It has led to actions that can't be taken back. There are guidelines in life today that prevent religion from being spoken of too much in a school setting. The sensitivity towards these issues is at an all time high on account of the dramatic efforts one will go to prove their faith, and their belief, is better then the others.

As one heartfelt statement...all the fighting, the aggression, doesn't it take the whole point of belief and faith away? Isn't the entire point to live in encouragement to find inner peace and understanding regardless of which religion you choose to analyze?

I myself am not a religion man. I am however, not ignorant. I speak of religion from a voice that has read several aspects/views and why they feel 'X' feeling. From Taoism to Christianity to Catholicism to Satanism to Agnosticism to every other religion that exists...the main point they all lead to is an understanding to why things are the way they are and the hope they can give its followers an approach to get through the painful lines of life.

There is so much time focused on comparing, saying this is how it has to be because this is what was taught at X time or to X family...why can't we take a common felt belief that there are good messages given from each passage of 'Faith' Each gives lessons that can be put towards growth and towards handling situations with some form of guideline.

The freedom of expression is a blessing, and for those who are truly committed to their beliefs, that feel they are above all the best guidelines to follow, to you individuals I say...take a moment and believe that...It's okay and it's admirable...but it's also okay to look into your opposition, and the beliefs you follow...you more likely than not will find striking similarity in what else you read. This can't be said for all religions sure...but in one way or another...it will teach you values to live by...and while they might not be the same stories and the same exact values....they will be granting a hope for the same achievements...that being to mold people into humble beings. To mold people into individuals that can think primarily for themselves...

I've read the most primarily on Catholic and Taoist belief...and while I claim you shouldn't preach anything...believe what helps you get to tomorrow is what I feel...I feel one thing that should be spoken is the belief that things exist so their counterparts may exist...that's one fact I feel should be expressed. Without ugly you can't have beautiful...without evil...you can't have good....you need opposites in order to recognize and differ between two objects...whether its a belief...or a feeling....outside of that....it is all up to what you feel inside should be....Anyone else who has thoughts or opinions on this...I welcome you to share them as an open discussion here...I feel it is a controversial topic...and I am not shy to address those...
