Bible Trivia: Creation

Updated on June 1, 2013

In the Beginning

The book of Genesis is a historical narrative provided by God about the beginning of things. In secular culture, creation is often considered a myth and theories created by man try to come up with other explanations. Theories that discount creation actually undermine the account of creation, and provide a foothold to discount other truths in the Bible. It creates a mindset that it is okay to pick and choose which parts of the bible you think are true or which are applicable today. It is not unusual for people to believe something other than what the Bible teaches without knowing what it has to say.

"The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting" (Psalm 119:160) (NASB).

The Bible, Evolution and Faith

Believing the Bible is a matter of faith, but what some people don't recognize is that believing in evolution is also a matter of faith. Neither can be proven scientifically for science is testable, measurable, observable, and repeatable. When it comes to the origins of mankind or the world it cannot be proven and it is a matter of faith.

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1 HCSB).

Facts and Conclusions

Our faith, wherever it is placed, generates presuppositions when it comes to interpreting the facts. We all start with the same facts. We just interpret them differently. Our beliefs are based on what we assume is true without being able to prove them. Christians base their faith on the Bible which claims to be the Word of God. This includes the account of creation. For Christians, this establishes presuppositions from which evidence is interpreted.

Much controversy stems from the passage found in the first chapter of Genesis, in which God chronicles creation day by day. It is not by accident that the Bible starts with creation. It is the foundation of a biblical worldview. How well do you know the details? Test your knowledge with this creation Bible quiz.

Hi Ms. Dee, Glad you enjoyed it. I look at quizzes as an opportunity to remind us of what we know and what we've forgotten. :) Thanks for reading and taking a moment to comment.

That was a fun but hard quiz! Makes for a nice review of the days of creation.
