Born Again- Five years later!

Updated on August 20, 2015

Hello hubbers and friends,

I wanted to do an updated article about being born again, saved, you know a Christian, bible believer to be exact. I always thought the term "born again" sounded weird when I was younger but it's simply a spiritual term similar to baptism.

I grew up catholic the youngest of ten children. It was sort of overdone by my mother. She told me that the more I prayed the better person I was and I sort of believed I could earn heaven. But, now as an adult Christian I realize that God is the one who saves us.

It all happened on December 26, 2009. I had tried several times before to understand this, but that day was the day that over the phone with my sister Mary, I was able to sincerely make an act of faith- a prayer I said with her called the 'sinner's prayer'.

After, I felt amazing. I was really "high" on life and it lasted for two hours. I felt like heaven was my home and I was just here temporarily on earth. In the following weeks I felt much less depressed than I had and more motivated out of nowhere. However, it took me time to find a church to go to, and it took me time to get a bible and start reading regularly.

Life is amazingly better now

Fast forward five years and I can tell you that I do read my bible pretty much daily- or try to. I am no longer suffering like I was. I used to have suicidal depressions and rage due to pms or bipolar or both but now I am on a new medicine for the past two years- Depakote, which had helped me so much that I don't experience those symptoms anymore! I no longer write articles about mental health on because there is not much to say! I feel really really blessed and I have come such a long way. I credit this to God.

Yes, God is good. I truly believe now from experience that he rewards us with good health when we come to Him!! So, this is my testimony. Thanks for reading. :)

      Hi blossomSB,

Nice to see you. Thank you. Maybe I'll write more on this again, a longer article. Things are still going great- no symptoms of bipolar anymore almost 3 years now.

And I'm learning more about fighting in the spiritual realm (Ephesians Chapter 6)

It's great! God bless you too, dear.

Yes, our Heavenly Father is so good and He really cares for His children. 'blessedp' is so right, that not many people understand how necessary it is for us to be 'born again,' to really turn our lives around. It's only through the sacrifice of Jesus that we can be forgiven for our sins and made holy so that we can have a true, loving relationship with our Father. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide your steps along your journey of life. God bless you.

Praise the Lord Jesus. Wonderful testimony. Jesus saves, keeps and He satisfies. Not many of us understand what is meant to be "Born Again".

I am happy for that move you did make to follow Jesus Christ He is the best and only true friend that we can have.

Keep walking in the light of the Lord, I pray the Holy spirit will continue to guide and keep you.

      Have a bless day.

I did find a good church, it's not baptist, but it's a bible practicing church that preaches the bible. The people are very good there, friendly and good fellowship!!!!

Sorry to say, I'm not a morning person so I still go to a catholic church in the evening, I'm working on it, anyways I get a lot out of a bible study at the bible church on Tues nights. Lots of blessings.

I don't hate the catholic church, it's okay, I don't mind going but my heart is with the bible

You didn't mention your home church. Are you still a practicing Catholic, or did you find another practicing faith that meets your spiritual needs? For many the search is a long one to spiritual fulfillment. Three cheers that you have found it. Nice to have you active here, too.

Oh, how beautiful. Yes, God will help us when we come to Him. He has promised that He will never forsake us or leave us alone. He will lift us up out the valley when we feel we can't go on. I am so thankful for you and I will pray for you. You pray for me and this is how we are over-comers through Jesus Christ. Holding our fellow Christians up in prayer is what we are supposed to do.

It is such a relief when our burdens are lifted and we come to the knowledge through faith; that God is real. He is so real and I hope those that want to believe the Cosmic Explosion made the human and earth come live; will seek further to know That God is Real.

      Thank the Lord for you!
