Online Bible Verses - Ephesians Chapter 4: How we should treat others
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” Ephesians 4:2NIV
How should we treat other people? Perhaps start with the ones you love, those you share the same house with. Can be tough at times. I had a day last week where I was just in the most terrible mood. Last night my wife was in the grumpy zone. Good thing is, we have not recently arrived there simultaneously. Put us both in that zone together, and we have the makings of a complete blowout, one which might require several weeks for complete recovery. That recovery potentially extended by the same type of mishap which required it in the first place.
A somewhat similar situation might occur if we are set off by another driver on the road, someone who draws first blood and prompts an urge to respond in kind.
Maybe someone at work just seems to not play nice, and you have no choice but to occupy the same sand box.
So in all these situations, what do you do? First prepare. They will arise, count on it. 2nd, get prayed up. Tell God that you know that moment will come, the one where you act before you think. Ask Him for the needed delay.
This is how we might become humble and gentle, where we can act in love. More importantly, do so even in situations where we tend not to.
