Be Still My Soul: Selah
I borrowed the title from a lyric in one of my most recent favorite songs by Kristene Mueller.
(I will share it with you in this hub)
We breathe and therefore we believe we are alive.
We awaken and we believe this day is all mine and no one and nothing can take it away.
Every single person on the planet thinks the very same thoughts.
This makes us all singularly equal and correspondingly identical.
The only differences start with culture, color of skin, language, belief or unbelief in a god, gods, or a belief in nothing at all and that we are just blobs of unset jello swimming in a sea of light and fragmented illusion of smoke and mirrors.
Such sadness to have no thought of being a complete body, soul, and spirit individual with purpose and distinction.
Money or the lack thereof really has little; actually has nothing to do with who we eventually become in character.
Our personality is shaped far deeper within the depths of our individuality, our soul.
The soul is the firing pot of life.
It is dependant upon many facets, distinctions, DNA, genes. It is as diverse as our unique DNA and no two souls are identical.
This is a mathematical enormity beyond the scope of human possibility.
The soul is beyond quantum physics and rises far above the reasoning of creation and is locked up in the heart of its creator.
You are a soul and spirit being that will execute life for eternity.
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. Ps 43.5
There are over 130 references to the soul in the Bible; David probably uses the word most, in discribing his circumstances, throughout the Psalms.
Our soul is affected by many things.
One of the greatest is music.
Our soul loves music. To sing, dance, express, be enlightened, encouraged, love and be loved, depth, precision, eclectic; having multitudes of assorted, distinct, colossal and extensive notes and variations of song and words that have no end.
We love it. It resonates as the one greatest singular art form that touches every single human in every culture and in every sense is what separates us distinctly from the animal kingdom.
Music stimulates all of our senses and can bringĀ us back to a specific time in our lives, a remeberance of love, friendship, special occasion, movie, or various other memories stored in the deep places of the soul. These are wonderful things, we canĀ explore and cherish.
Mammals, animals, reptiles, insects, with the exception of birds make noises, but not necessarily a thought provoked music. Birds even make an inherited sound, but it is bound to the dialect of its species to separate and individualize. They do not compose new songs.
The robin that lands in the tree outside your window this year, will have the exact same song it had last fall and the new family it bears will follow in the same manner.
But man... can compose, initiate, explore, expound in precise continuity a vast form of expression and variation of every conceivable sound, rhythm, method, with clarity and undeniable excellence. I have posted a few videos to spark our memories and stimulate our senses.
And yet we will not give voice to a creator who has lent us his freedom of love for the songs in our heart and the expressions of our soul.
