Why Must Heaven Be Destroyed?

I'm Locked Out of Heaven?

If you listen to contemporary music on the radio, then you might be familiar with the Bruno Mars song, "Locked Out of Heaven" or the Swedish House Mafia song, "Don't You Worry Child [Heaven's Got a Plan for You]"

Both of these songs might appeal to your spiritual side because they mention Heaven, but they are both theologically wrong. Sorry to burst your spiritual bubble.

No one is locked out of Heaven

Everyone has a chance to hear the gospel and respond to it. If you choose to not believe, then you choose the consequences -- which is not going to Heaven.

  • Romans 6:23 says: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
  • Romans 10:10: "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

Swedish House Mafia's song, "Don't You Worry Child" lyrics say: "Heaven's got a plan for you..." Heaven is a place created by God for those who choose to follow God.

God actually has the plan for your life. Heaven is only a place, and is not a being that has plans for your life.

Why Will Heaven Be Destroyed?

In Revelation 21:1, John says: "Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea."

Why was the first Heaven and the first Earth destroyed?

The answer is one and the same, and I've already given you a hint above. Romans 6:23 says: "For the wages of sin is death..."

Both Heaven Earth have been soiled by sin, which is rebellion against God. When God has sorted out the evil doers from the righteous, He will create a New Heaven and a New Earth that have not been tarnished by sin.

Conclusion

Heaven is a very real place.

God created it for those that love Him. Not everyone goes to Heaven.

Only those that call upon Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be able to go.

Sin is Satan's way of keeping people out of Heaven. His plan is quite effective. Satan is the "Father of all Lies." He loves evolutionists that push his agenda. As we know from history, Adolf Hitler was one of the biggest proponents of evolution, killing millions and citing that they were not evolved enough. Sad, but true.

You don't have to buy into the lies.

As long as you have breath in your body, you can get right with God by repenting of your sins, and committing your life to Him.

Jesus Returns Triumphantly

Before Heaven is Destroyed...

Revelation 19:11-16 says that Heaven will open up and out comes the Rider on a White Horse, called Faithful and True, and has a name written on Him that no one knows, but Himself. This rider is Jesus and no one can take his true name in vain. It is reserved for his faithful...for those who go to Heave to worship Him forever.

Jesus Christ Will Rule the Earth

As you already know, Jesus has not come back yet. Satan currently rules over the Earth as the "Prince of the Power of the Air." (Ephesians 2:2)

This is only a temporary rule for Satan. He will be bound for a thousand years when Jesus judges him. After that, he will be thrown into the Lake of Fire.

During this period of a thousand years, Jesus will rule over all of the Earth as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords in what is called the "Millennial Reign." (The scriptures below are interpreted with a literal meaning)

The Scriptures that support this:

  1. Isaiah 2:1-4
  2. Isaiah 9:6-7
  3. Isaiah 11:1-10
  4. Isaiah 16:5
  5. Isaiah 24:23
  6. Isaiah 32:1
  7. Isaiah 40:1-11
  8. Isaiah 42:3-4
  9. Isaiah 52:7-15
  10. Isaiah 55:4
  11. Daniel 2:44
  12. Daniel 7:27
  13. Micah 4:1-8
  14. Micah 5:2-5
  15. Zechariah 9:9
  16. Zechariah 14:16-17

Very uplifting, How I wish my faith is as strong as yours, Are you a mormon? I have been tormented with life sins and challenges. And it is really hard not to commit sins

People in church often have discussions about whether worship songs have correct (or any) theology in them.

These two secular songs were a good tie in to the subject.

The book of Revelation is prophecy of things to come. Yes, it came from John, but it is inspired by God.

I am not sure where your belief that nothing must be destroyed comes from, but the Bible is full of examples of people that rebel against God, and are destroyed. I am not coming up with the "Heaven must be destroyed" on my own.

I did not write this Hub to mock anyone's faith. As far as who is right and who is wrong, it is not for me to say.

I suppose it is just style perhaps. In your comment I read "are theologically wrong" "must be replaced". Just your phraseology seems as though you are declaring truths and that I am wrong if I hold to different truths. For instance I believe the Book of Revelation (without an s) is a dream that John related. His dream not mine. And I believe that nothing must be destroyed only built over with love. And I believe songs and dreams cannot be wrong or right they just are.

So you see the way you word things it comes out, either you or I are right and sense you believe you are right, you must believe I am wrong. And if you are right, God must do as you have decided.

I hope that helps us to understand each other.

@Eric - The first section of the Hub talks about how two contemporary songs about Heaven are theologically wrong.

The next section is about why the current Heaven must be replaced by a Heaven that has not been stained by sin.

The last section talks about Jesus coming back in the Millennial Reign.

I don't share any laws or rules to follow. The Book of Revelations will come to pass and I do not mock anyone's faith.

Perhaps I misread your hub. I thought I read it as you putting forth all of these laws and prophecies and things set in stone. I thought I read it as having no concept in God's love.

I thought I read it as God having no option but restrained by the things you said must happen. I thought I read it as denying that Christ is a living God, but rather one that must follow your rules.

I thought I read you as saying Revelation was more than a dream of John's that it was as set in stone as the ten commandments.

I do apologize if I was wrong or if you to not understand my angst.

@Eric - Perhaps you were directing your comment toward the songwriter of "Locked out of Heaven." I did not understand to whom your comment was directed, but you are entitled to your own opinion. Thanks for reading.

@Eric - I do not understand your comment. Third paragraph says "You are not locked out of Heaven." Your comment is bizarre.

@Disappearinghead - Thanks for sharing your views.

      John 3:13

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

      2 Peter 2:3

In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

Did this kid go to heaven? I'm doubtful. But then I don't post YouTube videos indicating that I believe they did just because they said so.

If you had ever studied the Hebrew Scriptures and Jewish theology, you would see that the satan is not what you have been told it is. As for Revelation, a book written by an unknown author, was argued over by the Church for 300 years before being voted into the cannon, and which contains Babylonian astrology, you simply cannot just blindly accept it as fact.

I always love the "gates". Do you think you are locked in or locked out???

How fun to think of heaven as a place like on earth. Destruction of a place of desire. Sorry, excuse me, my apologies I just wrecked your dreams. It was kind of like a Lego castle. Oh an by the by you can just stay down the road a bit.

I will have to index all these rules to make sure I do not miss a single one. Perhaps I could Resurrect some pharisees and scribes and ask Paul to return as Saul to get them all straight. And do not forget the secret password and code.

You mock my faith and the doctrine of love and you create gates and fences that do not belong. It is this kind of attitude that leads to crusades and hatred. knock it off. The sad psychotic holding my hand who cannot comprehend and the child who is to young will roast in eternal flames and you who are self righteous will rise and walk with Christ but the poor unrepentant sinners shall suffer a million years.

How about you suffer forever so the child can walk with Jesus and the psychotic can get his head right.

      This is not love.
