The Salt of the Earth - Intro

The Salt of the Earth

Welcome aboard and I am glad you took the time to read the article. Please look at Hubpages advertisers as well. We are going to change direction here a little bit and take a look at Matthew 5.13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”

If you think about it, out salt today is purified and does not lose its flavor. That was not the case in Jesus' day. Their salt had impurities and could and did lose its flavor. Jesus said in Mark 9.50,” Salt is good, but if the salt becomes unsalty, with what will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”

I have stated this before. Mark was an amanuensis for Peter. Here is some of what he took down:

“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange was happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.” (1 Peter 4.12-13)

God's Truth Brings Truth Out In Us

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” (1 Peter 5.10)

"In all this, you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." (1 Peter 1.6-7)

Really timely and soothing verses from Peter written down for him by John Mark. I thought with the sign of the times it would be good to hear some good news from the Word, and Peter is one who we can identify with, certainly, he had the word we need at this time.

God’s truth brings out Truth in our lives. Let’s look at a few that will help us in our walk:

God's Truth vs. Man's Traditions

Man's Traditions
God's Truth
Oward Forms: bondage
Inward Faith: Liberty
Trifling Rules
Fundamental Principles
Outward Piety
True Inward Holiness
Neglect the Word; Replace Word
Exalts the Word of God

Kosher Laws' are Bondage. The Laws were designed to expose Sin

Lucifer and the "I Wills"

Lucifer's "I Will" Statements

I have often wondered what was the straw that broke the camel’s back with God with Lucifer. I believe I have found it in Isaiah 14.13-14:

You said in your heart,

“I will ascend to the heavens;

I will raise my throne above the stars of God;

I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mt Zaphon.

I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;

I will make myself like the Highest.”.

There are five “I will” statements which I believe God took personally and finally cast Him out. Five times Lucifer said, “I will.” His lust for the throne of God, open self-centeredness and, obviously dissatisfied with his position, being exalted though it was. Lucifer wanted very much to be worshiped instead of leading the worship service for God. This vicarious experience through the Son of Perdition – the Antichrist (Revelation 13.4)

The End for This One

Thank you for reading the short essays. It is appreciated. Please visit the sponsors of Hubpages. Theoretically, we get paid on the basis of how many of the sites you visit and you might even buy something. Enough said on that subject.

I hope the articles are introducing some fresh rain of Biblical information. I do a lot of research before writing and hope that you are learning. I have learned the way you behave under pressure proves whether or not you're ready to move up to the next level with God.

The promises of God are for whoever chooses to obey Him. When you follow in the dust of the Rabbi you are choosing life. And finally for this time, no matter how you started out in life, you can finish - like Mark, Peter, Paul, and John - better in Christ Jesus!
