How to Read The HOLY BIBLE in just 30 Days (-or- 30 Weeks) - Day 3 (Week 3)

Hello and welcome,

[ DAY 3 - Week 3 ]

This is a continuation of the Scripture reading schedule, on how to cover the entire Word of God--The Holy Bible (both Old and New Testaments) in 30 days (or 30 Weeks - for a more relaxed alternative schedule). Each page will cover the particular lesson and assignment for that day's scheduled reading. The subject matter included on the page will also reflect a "cliff notes" style version of that topic and any highlights on those specific books and scripture verses.

IF YOU ARE ALREADY USING THIS STUDY GUIDE - JUST SKIP DOWN TO THE OUTLINE BELOW

You will not just be reading the Bible from the front cover to the back, but more of an overview that is a mixture of various books from the Old & New Testaments, Psalms & Proverbs, and to give you a good overall combination and variety of subject matter in the process. There will be no quizzes or tests. This is meant to be an enjoyable and enlightening experience, not a labor.

This is an intensive "crash course" designed for the serious student (and fast reader) as we stated above and it should only be attempted if you have enough spare time to dedicate yourself fully to such an endeavor. One well recommended approach (time permitting) would be 30 days of prayer and fasting accompanied by this complete immersion into the Word of God. You would be utterly surprised what can be revealed to you with such a dedicated effort. This format of study however, might be difficult within the time frame allotted. If so, simply follow the alternative 30-week reading schedule instead. You should otherwise just proceed at your leisure and at a pace that is comfortable to you.

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11 NIV)

Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments. Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105 KJV)

Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. (John 17:17 KJV)

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (II Timothy 2:15 NIV)

The more time that we are able to spend with the Word of God (The Holy Bible), the more that the Holy Spirit is able to move in us and through us, as He enables us, strengthens us, and fills us with His joy! Any undertaking involving a thorough study of the Word of God will be educational at its least and is bound to produce other enlightening results as well.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

This format does not require you to use a specific version of scripture either. I will many times quote from the New International version just for its ease of speaking in the modern English language. I ALWAYS refer back to the original King James version as this is probably the most literally accurate of all the English translations.

If you have access to a concordance (Bible thesaurus) and even a Hebrew translation or interlinear copy (English/Greek/Hebrew) to follow along with, by all means "dig in". Enjoy the Word of God and study it at every level that suits you. If that means you cannot follow the schedule in these outlines then don't worry either, work at your own pace without a schedule or time table.

The main thing is to help you get involved in reading and understanding the "Living Word of God" (The Holy Bible) so that it may benefit you and have a real impact on your daily living. Just pray with it while reading and let the Holy Spirit guide you. -AMEN

PSALMS: 11-15

SUMMARY - Psalms dealing with safe refuge, protection, and the concern for sinners; including those written by David as: Psalm 12 for the Sheminith (an eight stringed instrument); and other Psalms by David.

Book of EXODUS: Chapters 1-25

SUMMARY - The Israelites are oppressed by Egypt; birth of Moses; Moses kills an Egyptian, Moses flees to Midian and takes a wife; Moses the shepherd is visited by the "Burning Bush"; Moses returns to Egypt, God promises deliverance; genealogy of Moses and Aaron; confrontation with Pharaoh and the Plagues of Egypt, the Angel of Death and the origin of "Passover"; The Exodus from Egypt, parting of the Red Sea; into the Desert of Shur; provision of Manna and Quail, Water from the Rock; defeat of the Amalekites and the Altar dedication; Jethro visits Moses, camp in the Desert of Sinai below the mountain; Moses receives the Ten Commandments, further explanation of the Commandments; the Covenant Confirmed; Offerings for the Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant.

Book of MATTHEW: Chapters 20-28

SUMMARY - Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard; Jesus predicts His death a third time; the two blind men receive sight; Jesus comes to Jerusalem as King, Jesus drives the money changers from the temple; paying Taxes, the Greatest Commandment, the Seven Woes; Signs of the End of the Age, the day and hour unknown, prophetic Parables; the plot of the Pharisees; Jesus is anointed at Bethany; Judas is bribed; the Last Supper, Garden of Gethsemane; the betrayal and suicide of Judas, the arrest and trial of Jesus by the Sanhedrin; Peter's denial; Pontius Pilate "washes his hands" of the decision, Jesus is mocked and tortured by the Romans; the Crucifixion, death and burial of Jesus; the tomb donated by Joseph of Arimathea; the Resurrection of Christ and the Angel of the Lord, the Roman guards flee, the witnesses; assignment of the Great Commission to the Apostles.

Book of PROVERBS: Chapter 3

SUMMARY - The wisdom of King Solomon as written: the further benefits of Wisdom.
