But, i AM a Believer. A Declaration of Faith
I believe in Angels
I am a believer
Emotional and Religious rigidity is counter intuitive and restricts the mind from expansion.
There is so much more to learn, and ponder, than ones narrow mindedness allows.
"I AM A BELIEVER'': Despite all those who think to the contrary:
This article was prompted by the endless insulting comments, remarks, and threats, made by the "christian" conservatives who seem to be the most prevalent members of hub pages, and the loudest most predaciously unyielding group in today's society in general (in the U.S.A.)
I specify the USA because there ARE other 'christian' like counterparts in other countries with the same religious vehemence, except with different gods that they worship.
It is all quite disconcerting for those who are able to rise above the superstitious fray, and the brainwashing that the self proclaimed believers have endured as children, which has tainted their ability to grasp logic, utilize rationalization, possess any common sense, and who totally reject the capability of having any thoughts, or actually forming any opinions, of their own.
This irrationality became apparent after recently answering a question and being told by that querier that he only wanted to hear answers from "believers".
Although, insulting, my initial response was one of pity (or perhaps sympathy) for those who have been led to believe that theirs is the only path to follow in this life, and that only the desperately needed reinforcing responses from other members of the same cult, truly matters.
Scepticism
A practical approach
But, [I am a believer] with a pragmatic point of view - that is to say, that in matters of religious beliefs the prevailing preferences are relating to matters of fact, or practicality, as opposed to idiomatic deism (the unique beliefs of any particular cult, sect, or religion).
Pragmatism being a practical approach to problems and affairs as opposed to supernatural, mystical, or superstitious.
This pragmatic movement in U.S. philosophy was founded by C.S. Pierce and William James, and marked by the doctrines that the meaning of conceptions, is to be sought in their practical bearings, that the function of thought is to guide action, and that truth is preeminently to be tested by practical consequences of belief.
So, embracing any ancient established belief system is not an option one should base their entire existence on, as it narrows one's view of reality, causing societal discord.
Those who limit themselves to blindly following anything based on fallacious fairytale teachings are losing out on mind expansion and intellectual growth.
It is akin to the ancient practice of binding the feet of female children to stop their physiological growth (as a false belief that this somehow enhances beauty and grace), except it is being done to the intellect instead of the physical body.
These barbaric beliefs and rituals are useless and cause irreversible physical and mental retardant, and unnecessary, strictures in the intended intellectual growth and development of a child's mind.
So, yes {i am a believer}.

There are
I believe in Angels
And I believer in:
- I believe in a superior intelligence (god, if you will) that is way more advanced than anyone that currently exists on this planet. Especially as evidenced by the writings that spewed from the mind blowing scribes of yore.
- I believe in life being something to enjoy without fear or guilt for being who we are born to be.
- I believe in not brainwashing children into believing irrational teachings that they have no choice in.
- i believe in compassion, empathy and spreading love - not hatred.
- I believe in man's ability to evolve into more than we are today.
- I believe in free will and using our minds to explore new things, ideas, and concepts, and expand to our full potential
- I believe in equality for everyone
- I believe in the negative impacts on society caused by the evils that are named: 'greed' and 'self serving'.
- I believe in the ability for all persons to have a spiritual connection with our universal oneness without the need for a 'middleman'.
- I believe in the fact that all organized religions are in the control business, above all else.
- i believe in an after life in which we are all equal and deserving of sharing our life's experiences with one another.
- I believe in allowing everyone to pursue their own destinies without judgement, or constraints, either physically, or emotionally by others.
These beliefs are as unyielding as those of the 'blind faith' proponents of their respective religions beliefs, are to them. But mostly i believe that humans are not accountable to one another, but to themselves alone.
When a mind is open to its natural thought processes, universal insight is gained and is invaluable to that growth and development of the ever evolving mind expansion of humanity.
Those rigid narrow visioned beliefs of the ancient past are causing us to place an invisible barrier around our minds, and in turn, causing an involuntary slowing down of that evolutionary spiritual process.
And in that retardive process, we are continuously cultivating a society of puppets who never learn how to use their intellect for expansion of knowledge.
Instead we live in fear that questioning that imaginary barrier which permits those chains of bondage to be placed around our minds and souls, will somehow bring down the wrath of God upon us.
That false belief by itself can only serve to restrict any greater expansive individual spiritual growth.
