In Him We Live

Updated on February 7, 2015

“For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.” Galatians 2:19-21

Hey you! Yes you! Did you know that the cross of Calvary opened up an endless wealth of victory for you, when HE (The Christ) hung between TWO THIEVES, which in itself is a mystery that speaks of the full redemption of our spirit, soul and body?

The call of the Holy Spirit, is a call to embrace the oneness that is rightfully ours to possess, as we press into the holy of holies.

For IN HIM, WE LIVE, but one must ask the question what exactly does it mean to LIVE IN HIM? I assure you there is higher message associated with living in him that surpasses our church mindsets. The language of God is a high language, and the same can be said of the thoughts of God. The ways of God are higher than the ways of men, and his thoughts are higher than the thoughts of men. This life in Him, is not a BAPTIST LIFE, neither is it a PENTECOSTAL LIFE, it is not a MUSLIM LIFE, it is not a RELIGIOUS LIFE. It is LIFE that emanates from HIM who is life. John 1:4 states the following: “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

If we are truly said to LIVE IN HIM, we must be clear about what that life is. It is a life of being one and the same. I am He and He is me, and we are one, because this is what the benefit of His death, burial, resurrection and ascension provided. Christ is the catalyst of man’s existence before, during and after Calvary.

IN HIM WE LIVE GOD’S LIFE…

In this section of our lesson, you must hear what the spirit is saying unto the church, your church, (a.k.a. YOUR HOLY TEMPLE) that you are: TO LIVE IN HIM is to be attached to THE SELF THAT HE (THE CHRIST) IS.

Christendom has served up a faraway Christ, but I present to you a Christ that is nearer than we originally thought. Even some say, without a hint of feeling, that Christ is within them, but what does this truly mean? If Christ is in us, how do we live a much better quality of life, or experience the evidence of His dwelling within in us?

The answer is this: “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh (the outer life), God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin CONDEMNED SIN IN THE FLESH, That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, WHO WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH, BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT,” (Romans 8:3).

In other words, Christ appeared to realign our source of life. No longer was man to live his life from the outside in, mankind was to live FROM THE INSIDE OUT, which is the original blueprint for living. Christ abolished, within our thinking, that we are temporal creatures, whose future is seated in beggarly elements. Christ came to awaken our knowledge to the life that we have available to us. THE ZAO (Gr.2198) kind of life or God kind of life, is a life that is QUICKENED within us, by the Spirit, requires that we live, move, and have our being FROM WITHIN.

Having the fanciest house in the neighborhood, an up to date car in the garage, or the finest clothes in your closet; does not constitute the life of God. The life of God is connected to our embrace of the Christ within. It is life, when the lions are upon you. It is life when there is no food in the cupboard. It is life when you have no favor with men.

It is a life of stability, because you are attached to him that is life; and he is attached to you. It is important that we understand the LIFE THAT WE NOW LIVE.

Romans 8:5 says, “For they that are AFTER THE FLESH [the outer realm] DO MIND THE THINGS OF THE FLESH; but they that are AFTER THE SPIRIT [the inner realm] THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT.” To be attached, aligned or in accordance to life AFTER THE SPIRIT, is to be in union with the original YOU.

Life AFTER THE FLESH is an association with THE BEAST nature. This is the realm of appetites satisfied by what seems good for food, pleasant to the eyes, and wisdom birthed out of beastly desire (see Genesis 3:6). I John 2:16 said it this way, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

To live IN HIM is to have spiritual desires that are not of the systems of this world. It is the realm of ALL THAT I SEE THE FATHER DO, I DO!

The beast system is not just about churches that produce carnal sons and daughters, the beastly system is to live by one’s own reasoning, trusting your inner woman (a.k.a. the soul or nephesh) that feeds your inner spirit with the wrong sustenance of life.

Christ declares himself to be the bread of God, and it is this bread that strips away our hunger and thirst for the world’s systematic way of doing things (see John 6:35).

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”

Never hungering or thirsting for anything that comes out of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, is the ultimate expectation that God has for us. Can you agree, that it is our appetites that tend get us in trouble with manifesting the life of God?

God’s life is available to everyone, however it is our appetite that dictates how we reveal this life. Paul hits the nail on the head when he says in Galatians 2:19-20, “For I through the law am DEAD TO THE LAW, that I MIGHT LIVE UNTO GOD. I AM CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST: nevertheless I LIVE; YET NOT I, but CHRIST LIVETH IN ME…

Why is this verse so significant? Because CHRIST LIVES;-not will live, not might live, not hoping to live…HE SIMPLY LIVES!

“But we HAVE this TREASURE in EARTHEN VESSELS that the excellency of the power may be of God, and NOT OF US,” (II Corinthians 4:7).

Can you hear it in the verse? HE LIVES IN ME, AND HE LIVES IN YOU, and what we have to do is IDENTIFY with this life. We identify with this life in the following manner: “AND THE LIFE WHICH I NOW LIVE IN THE FLESH I LIVE BY THE FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD, WHO LOVED ME, AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR ME.
