Joel 2:23 - autumn rains
“Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.” Joel 2:23
Autumn rains, and the existence of seasons. The earth is caught in the sun’s gravitational pull, and actually accelerates toward the sun. This is known as centripetal acceleration, and it maintains the earth in elliptical orbit. As distance from and angle to the sun varies periodically, we see a seasonal effect. That coupled with the earth’s rotation on its own axis, giving us day and night, the lengths of which vary seasonally as well. Everything in amazing balance, a cycle of season and life which points directly at creative design. That as opposed to random process, which could never put the apparent fingerprint of intent in place as we see it before us.
If we can then consider the likelihood of a Creator, the next logical step is to seek Him out. A simple appeal to a God yet unknown can start the ball rolling. Scripture, if indeed inspired by Him, tells us He will do the rest. Whatever opening is found in a searching heart will be accessed by His Spirit and a new life will begin. That’s His promise.
