Living A Successful Life
Now it shall come to pass, if you dilligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all his commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail. You shall be above only, and not beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, Which i command you today, and are careful to observe them. so you shall not turn aside from any of the words which i command you this day, to the right or the left to go after other gods to serve them. ~Deut 28:1-14~ NLT
In exchange for obedience to God's word, and his commandments, God promises to take care of his people. He has everything we need. He makes it clear that we would lack nothing. Many of you probably feel like this is a hard thing to do, and it's easier said than done. Obeying God is not a hard thing to do. This, I assure you, can be done. However, walking with God requires a daily commitment. It starts with a desire to do what's right. Not what's right in our mind, but what is right according to God's law. Here's what i do when i get up in the morning: I pray. I thank God for a new day. Everyday is a chance to get it right. Whatever I did wrong the day before, I try to do it right the next day. Sometimes you will have to make some pretty tough decisions, but no matter how difficult the decision, you have to tell yourself, "i am going to do what pleases the father". We have to exchange our will, for his will. We all make mistakes. We're human. The key is not to make the same mistakes again. Obeying the voice of the lord, keeping his commandments and his statues, is the key to abundant life.
