Online Bible Verses about Positive Attitude: Colossians 4:5 - Staying Positive
“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
Colossians 4:5
I’m picturing REM’s “Shiny Happy People” video. Everybody is happy and nice to each other, “holding hands”. I was stationed in a particular office when I was in the Navy. Had my share of troubles at the time, but tried to stay positive. Can recall one of the Petty Officers in the office had on and off days, off ones found him with a real bad attitude. “Shiny Happy People” was at the top of the charts, so I would make it a habit to belt it out when it came on. Most of the people there got a kick out of it, even the Chief. It tended to put him in a better mood if he was having a bad day. The song would come on and He would say “Oh no, here we go again….” We would all laugh then I would sing for him.
So, as tough as it is sometimes, to an extent anyhow, conveying a positive message is the way to go. Especially when we are discussing the Gospel. As I often say, Gospel means “good news”; good news, which sometimes has to communicated in concert with bad news. After all, if the bad news did not preceded it, there would be no need for Christ’s message to begin with. So we, in this world where we live, have to look at and deal with both good and bad. It is our choice which way we want to be charged, positively or negatively.
