Dr. Awour, the Prophet With Protective Followers.
Protective on Social Media
Let me begin with a universal and a biblical thought –thou shall not judge. Good people are probably best at judging but for this case, I am not going to venture into the misdeed or haram if you would like it that way. It is awfully embarrassing that we can actually have battles and debate on social media, precisely on twitter, about religious leaders, prophets and what have you.
Each time I skim my twitter, my eyes ever hit on trends-many trends with the most outstanding are football hashtags, promoted brand trends, tends pushed by dodgy guys in the name of bloggers in exchange for cash as restitution from malicious political gamers. Among these trends would be a hashtag pushed by followers of a church of holiness led by a self-proclaimed prophet, Dr. Awuor. I prefer not using the prefix self-proclaimed because to me it sounds judgmental although journalists make sense when using the start of the word. My greatest concern is why a bunch of believers would want to justify their allegiance to the church and adherence to a prophet on twitter.
I got to know the stories of Dr. Awour after some weird news kept circulating in the media that the man of God performed a resurrection miracle. I did not believe this because in the modern world it is practically impossible to wake up from the dead. In Hollywood resurrection is a spell that is cast by witches and wizards. Later over some months, I heard he prophesized the cracks on the earth at Suswa, and the most intriguing miracles are that he healed people with the unspeakable disease of aids. These stories of fantasy pushed my consciousness into google –where lies and truths are blended together to cook stories.
‘’’ Dr. Awuor ‘’ I typed. The smart thing with Google is that it has an auto complete search feature that brought me titles as;
Dr.Awuor and the snake
Dr. Awuor driver dies
Dr. Awuor secrets
Dr. Awuor never dies
And many other arousing titles. The content behind all these titles brought much confusion to me, the kind of titles that drove my attention away from my intents
I had loads of questions that my brains generated from what I found on the search results .why would a man of God have so many enemies who publish negative information about him. Could the man be such a false prophet with a huge number of followers who are in search of miracles? –the absolute characteristic that I have learned from his followers .they owe much fealty to miracles rather than their faith, and in the end, their belief is rooted in miracles.
My second thought about these questions is that he, the doctor has got thousands of followers who might swear on his name .do these people follow him as disciples or because they want to see miracles, or they are in pursuit of the heavenly kingdom, what Jesus taught us; seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and all shall be granted to you?
Followers do not justify the legitimacy, I also attended one of his meetings to see him command the rains from the clouds. The same way our forefathers who were rainmakers did during the driest months.it wasn’t a miracle. Did we not see the unsuspecting bunny Kanyari getting grounded by the government for performing the fakest of miracles to attract multitudes with a paramount aim of increasing his cash flows? With no jobs, a university graduate would have done anything in pursuit of greener pastures am glad we have the best universities that train us on survival tactics.
wealth
Let’s talk about the immense wealth that he has managed to bundle –just like a political figure. He moves around on heavy engines and sets his feet only on red carpets, just like presidents, celebrities and Santa. Remember the red color on carpets is also symbolism in a certain international cult. The bitter truth is that even amongst his followers there are whispers and concerns about his wealth- they will not admit this. It is ridiculous that prophets of the world seek earthly gratifications when the true prophet himself rode on a mule during his triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Did he not teach the virtue of humbleness and humility? Were his disciples not as humble as he was? I am not saying that it is indecent for a prophet to own property ,am only raising doubts that need to be addressed .back to the followers who I must confess bore me with their hashtags attacks, a self-defense mechanism, rich with offense. Why would churchmen and women play an ultimate freebee game of defense on a social media platform? Why would you not put your effort on praise for salvation rather than being zealous and show mischief? Is that what your religion teaches that you should backlash on your enemies? The bible says if someone slaps you on the right cheek, give him the left one to strike, right? I beseech you in the name of prophet Awour, please stop twitter battles with the people of the world.
Humans are made of sin, and what if your prophet turns out to be a Judas and ends up shaming the whole church in front of your media enemies? Let me tell you one thing that the world needs, humbleness and meekness. Be humble and let karma and Mother Nature work on your enemies, stop cursing people on twitter because God in heaven loves all.
Conclusion
Earlier I said do not judge, for ye will be judged, whatever your religion, denomination or cult is, be humble and have a place in the orbit, those are the teachings of true religion. Learn to accept criticisms because that is what shapes a perfect object. Remember, social media battles do not prove anything, the rewards are likes and replies from people who agree to the thoughts. There is never a great religion that humanity.
