Though we can mess up a lot of things in life, just know that none of us are perfect and some of us are a work in progress.

Personal Commentary from Psalms 23

Things I Know About His Divine Caring:

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He has provided all my needs, but maybe not all my wants. He is faithful.
Since he is the shepherd, then I am his sheep and his eyes are looking towards me. He doesn't slumber or sleep, So I can rest assured of his knowing where I am in the field he has me in. He knows what I have need of even before I ask, but he still wants me to ask. He wants me to communicate with him in prayer and read his word. John 10:10 "I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly."

He makes me to lie down in green pastures.
God prepares my place in time, and my place in the world, where I was born and who I was born to, and established who I was as an individual and he continues to construct the environment around me. Romans 5:1 "We have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ." No matter what is going on around me, he is making a place for me to rest, and even though it sometimes involves struggles, it is a safe path and a safe pasture.

He leads me beside the still waters.
Whoever or whatever comes my way, we are going to be led along deep still waters. Its a fact of where we are headed unless I let myself be led astray. Romans 5:8 - For God demonstrated his own love for us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ(Jesus) died for the ungodly. He has a personal interest in taking me in a good way in life.

He restores my soul.
God is patient, and he is purposeful, and he has a plan to restore us to him.
Rev. 3:20 -Here I am. I stand at the door and knock. If any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come and eat with him, and he with me. Once we surrender and are obedient to repent and ask him inside our hearts, we can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and he will lead and guide us into all truth.

He leads me in the path of righteousness for his name sake.
This just simply means that he is the Shepherd who leads his sheep where he wants us to dwell. Ephesians 2:8-9 -For by grace you have been saved. through faith and not from yourself. It is the gift of God, not by works, so that none can boast. The right path for our lives is where he wants us to be. This is right thinking.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for He is with me.
Though this is a hard one especially for those of us who have lost a loved one, sometimes due to tragic reasons, we have to lean on his everlasting arms. He is our hope and our resurrection. We hope to meet up again with those we lost, when we die. This is why its important to be saved and ready. John 1:12, - Yet to all that received him, to those that believe in his name, to them gave he power to to become the sons of God. Though none of us want to die, Death really is just the doorway to our spiritual home. We are the sons and daughters of a mighty and holy God, so we are privileged.

His rod and his staff, they comfort me.
Sometimes the shepherd disciplines the sheep, for its own good. If he breaks us somehow, and then picks us up and carries us upon his shoulders, then his plan is for us to become dependent on him and bonded with him so that we will never stray again. He chastises us only for our own good when we will not listen. Isaiah 59:2 - but your iniquities have separated you from God. Your sins have hid his face from you so that he will not hear. He only wants to get our attention and bring us back to his fold where we are safe and sound.

He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
It is only fair that we are favored if we are the ones who chose this way, for all were given the same opportunity. I Peter 3:18 -For Christ died for sins once for all. the righteous for the unrighteous. to bring you to God. Why do some fight and resist, when we could all eat at his table and be blessed? IN Jesus we are in the majority, through a mighty unseen force and divine love that favors us, no matter what the odds.

He anointed my head with oil.
There is a special anointing for those who walk in Christian love. As our high priest, Jesus Christ anoints our heads with oil. It represents the saving grace of God, and his hand upon our lives. John 10:10 - I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly. Jesus is all about us being full of his spirit, full of his grace and full of his power.

My cup runneth over.
There is an overflow when we are close to our God. He created and and perfected the universe, and it was complete, but scripture says he is still adding to us daily. He is still contributing to our lives, our character and to our perfection, enough that it should overflow onto others. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This is why our cup should be overflowing, so others can see and know that God loves them. Also because we are grateful for what he has done for us.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
We are called to be Christ like and to be holy and our lives to be productive, and we are to serve others in our Christian walk. Again, Romans 5:1 We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. When we truly follow him, his blessings will begin to follow us. Abundance and blessing begins in the house of the Lord.

Amen.
He is just saying we are finished. it is complete. We are complete in Jesus. What else do you need? If you walk with him, he will walk with you.
