REINCARNATION – Fact or Fiction? 2

Updated on September 14, 2015

Where are you now?

We have to honestly assess our own point A, before trying to get to point B
We have to honestly assess our own point A, before trying to get to point B

Have you read REINCARNATION – Fact or Fiction? 1 of this series yet? I highly recommend you back up to that first! This hub is simply to share some of the fundamentally accepted beliefs I found helpful prior to walking through the door of fact or fiction concerning past lives. This second part is for those who are intrigued, really want to know or explore another opportunity of self discovery – as DynamicS phrased it so eloquently.

To go from 'point A' to 'point B', it is not enough to have a plan and details of our destination. To illustrate this, imagine for a moment that you were blind-folded and put on a plane. After flying around awhile, they drop you off in the middle of the desert. Kind enough to give you water, a map, and even a compass, they tell you to walk to ‘point B’. Without knowing exactly where you are, your 'point A', would you ever be able to make it to 'point B'?

Knowing where we are now is essential before we can truly reach any goal with confidence. No additional homework may be necessary. You may instantly know where you are in the following areas. Then again, you may want to incorporate some changes first.

The avenue of past life regression is available to all of us. Most of us know the door is there. We have inklings of awareness or out and out blasts of intense energy when we meet someone. Psychologically they say “déjà vu” is merely a mind “hiccup” when we are tired. Sometimes though, the entire universe hiccups to help enlighten our path. Taking this more seriously than a restless night’s lack of sleep can move our mountains. The following combinations of our 'point A' and potential benefits of revisiting past lives might help you decide if you really want to go there, or are ready.

Are you stuck?

no matter how beautiful the scenery, when we're stuck, we rot
no matter how beautiful the scenery, when we're stuck, we rot

Busy with the day to day essential demands of life, you may ask, “Why take the time to look at the past?” As valid a question as this is, we tend to function and make decisions based on past lessons or areas we have not yet fully comprehended. We can remain stuck, recreating similar scenarios repeatedly in an attempt to get it right this time. It does not even matter that we consciously know we cannot change anything in the past. Becoming aware of our blocks/"mountains"/places we're stuck however, we can recognize the inherent pearl of wisdom each circumstance offers in order to shift our thinking and catapult forward. Any avenue that can help us do that is, in my mind, FABULOUS!

When stuck, these repetitious creations cause more and more stress. It is as though we are stretching a rubber band tighter and tighter - inevitably, it will eventually snap. Once we see what the situation is trying to teach us, dealing with it by changing can prevent the snap. Since the snap or break is usually a manifestation of dis-ease, a paradigm of prevention is extremely helpful.

Our reasons for exploration

may be as varied as the colors of the rainbow. In general, it helps us cope better in our day to day lives
may be as varied as the colors of the rainbow. In general, it helps us cope better in our day to day lives

Specific reasons to delve into past life regression may vary as widely as the colors of the rainbow. In general, however, it is for the same reason we would choose any path of enlightenment. As above, they can help us cope better in our day to day lives diminishing stress, which of course causes 95% of all dis-ease.

Once we truly know or see the bigger picture, we are amongst those who feel the freedom of, “Don’t sweat the small stuff – AND IT’S ALL SMALL STUFF!” The grander our perspective, the more pieces of the puzzle we can appropriate coherently. The more we practice that, the less attached we are to the inconvenient specs of dust that invariably land on our shiny enlightenment.

Worlds of Eck GOD/SUGMAD

Self-realization to God-realization. Negative to positive
Self-realization to God-realization. Negative to positive

Forrest Gump RAN - refusing to get sucked into the negative

We can remain so attached

we try to control others and suck them into our confused state of negativity
we try to control others and suck them into our confused state of negativity

An easy, breezy example of this is in the movie, “Forrest Gump”. Forrest learned he could run away from ignorance and cruelty, so one day he took off to run from the emotionally painful turmoil caused by complications. After running thousands of miles, someone wanted to suck him back into analyzing and feeling bad about life’s woes. “You just stepped in a pile of DUNG!” He kept running, “shit happens” was his simple declaration.

We can remain so attached to our puny little opinions; we willingly throw piles of dung at others, hoping to suck them into feeling as confused as we do. “Christianity is about control! You should not be Christian or put any faith in the Bible! Are you THAT stupid?” What makes the blatantly obvious ‘shoulding upon others’ desire to control, ANY different from what you claim to be against? We can often more easily see other’s “issues” while blinded in judgment. Without expanding our horizons, realizing it has nothing to do with “them” is tough.

If you take exception to anything “outside” yourself – begin within and deal with it. Revisiting past lives may simply reveal that you have died once or twice already for that very same limiting belief. It is not your job to “condemn others to hell”. Incorporating "do unto others as you would want them to do unto you", broadening one's perspective here and now is simpler. Enjoy every possible shining facet of wisdom you can find and allow others to do the same.

Gestalt Therapy can catapult our growth!

Although e-motion is our energy in motion, we do not have to “be” an emotion to move. Eckhart Toll explains this beautifully on my hub Gift of Tranquility. If we believe we are our emotions, re-experiencing our past will invariably make us relive EXACTLY what we felt then. YIKES! Our attachment to the emotions, believing that is who we are, is the cause of dis-ease. Who in their right mind would voluntarily relive the same negative degree of emotion to feel a heart attack?

Remember – we are the best now that we have ever been. When detached, we can witness what happened in the same way we can shift our awareness of childhood trauma through Gestalt Therapy. Viewing it detachedly with a more mature frame of reference, without dependence on the outcome, without believing we have “no choice”, allows us to see and gain the beneficial wisdom and lessons. The goal is to advance with all this after all, is it not?

The meek shall inherit the earth

Yet the meek are humble thus, they know they do not own anything
Yet the meek are humble thus, they know they do not own anything

complete awareness in all your actions, will melt away the undesirable

The grander perspective of synergistic living tends to negate comparisons or competition altogether. As merely another one of those puny delusional tools our ego uses, they keep us stuck in “lack” or “separation”. What greater good can be achieved by thinking you are “better than” or “less than”? Once we truly understand karma, exploitation is a mere withdrawal from the account.

I have heard people egotistically brag of having been a King or Queen in a past life. With the very real surety that we are the best now that we have ever been, the enlightening clarity of their bragging is only to realize how thoroughly egotistical and narcissistic that King or Queen must have been, if it is even true.

I have not yet been able to travel anywhere or expand my awareness while ego has a firm grip. Perhaps this is again too subtle. To simplify: if you want to discover who you were in other lives to puff yourself up, or try to prove how much better you are than someone else – forget it! If you are blaming some sort of outside "devil" for the evil you cause, there is much work to be done here first. Once you do accept full responsibility for your actions however, you will be able to easily move beyond this earthly school of duality because:

Compassion is the key,

Love is the door,

Greater humility is the blessed gift that waits on the other side.

Life’s irony is that “The meek shall inherit the earth”, when it is only greed’s grip on us that makes inheritance appealingly attractive.

Do you want to broaden your horizons?

From this greater perspective, do we judge the light to be "more right"?
From this greater perspective, do we judge the light to be "more right"?
Thousands more smiles and people to love!!! We are all in this together :)
Thousands more smiles and people to love!!! We are all in this together :)

Is the wisdom of prevention a part of your being? Have you broadened your perspective by realizing anything of this earth is “small stuff” - at least to the degree of relinquishing your desire to control others? Are you detached to the point of knowing you are not your physical body or merely an emotion? Have you left comparative exploitation behind to embrace synergism? If so, you already know the blessing of humility.

With humility, every moment of our journey is peacefully fulfilling. Revisiting past lives can confirm the “lightning bolt” realizations we already paid dearly to understand. By reviewing the similar golden thread that has woven its way through each, our purpose becomes clearer.

Do you ever take the time to review old pictures or videos, reminiscing with a smile? If you do, past life regression can bring thousands more smiles. Do you treat the other people in the photos with disdain or disrespect after remembering how many smiles you have shared? No, there is only love. Thus, our visits in the past reveal the other souls we have loved. The more love we give, the more we receive and thus, the more that flows through us.

It is your choice.

These aspects can help you pinpoint and understand your 'point A' to walk through the gate of, “Reincarnation – fact or fiction?” to 'point B' for yourself :)

Thank you so much for your positive comment Ladyfairz! Sounds as though you've practiced cleansing for decades - so much so that the truth of the universe is inevitably revealed (rather than the usual of only our own "truth"). My experience, and thus knowing without doubt, seems to come only after a serious, almost blinder focus of having to know. With the latter the universe will hiccup (strange, inexplicable circumstances) to reveal what is outside my perception. Don't know if you've actually revisited past lives, but it's definitely eye opening and fulfilling. Complications disintegrate, which is the state you practice. Cheers to our mutual knowing and growth dear lady :)

Then, I'd completely let go of the need to know how DynamicS. I know, I know what I wrote but that's only because most folks can't truly understand what 100% intention is. You already have your how - you just said it really. So, let go of fear and meditate on it a little - or as I did, a lot! :) You'll laugh as I did I'm sure. The complete realization and awakening will come with a particular incident... well, better get to writing it for you or I'll write another hub's worth in the comment. Off traveling for a few days... Maybe it will happen for you while I'm gone and by the time I write it, we'll have great stories to share. It won't happen at all as you consciously think - that's the beauty of it, and probably part of the awareness/awakening - I'm so excited for you!

SEM Pro, I believe I am trying to figure out the how. The why will make sense as I go along; it is a work in progress. I revisit it every now and then when I face a hiccup.

      Thanks for your guidance. Blessings

Perhaps it would be tougher to realize after being on a set and fabricating a tale of it. Can't imagine having a true, in touch with energy, kind of experience with someone saying, "Take 23! Could you keep your left profile facing the third camera this time?" lol

Truth seems stranger or at least as strange as fiction. My Nephew made the statement last time I saw him "It only happens in the movies".The funny thing is he's a grunt for a movie studio now.I had to remind him that there is a lot of reality in those fiction movies.

Clearly they're out there someonewhoknows. We used to just look at sci fi as someone's imagination in most cases. With the ease of global awareness these days, we begin to see how true all this stuff is.

I've had even stranger experiences where the entire universe changed - I mean literally: got in an elevator on one side of a building (when I didn't even need to use the elevator) and end up on the entire other side of the building in a different elevator! Yikes - I paid serious attention to whatever was going to happen next because that's some pretty clear guidance!

That is an intriguing gift your co-worker has. If she could see the seperation of one's spiritual side, she'd have a huge advantage in being able to know who to deal with, or spend time with, or when she was being taken etc. How cool would that be!

The first time I went out of body spiritually, my girlfriend had to hold me for about 20 minutes apparently. She said she heard me asking to do so, knew it was my voice, but realized how serious it was because she said my voice was about 20 feet up - not from my body.

To hear these things without going there, seems kinda scary. But once going there, at least I've found, those kind of things are a whole lot more trustworthy than what happens here by far! That's why I write with all the - how to get there.

YOu must have a strong spiritual side! Long response... you're worth it :) Good to see you

I've had someone I worked with tell me she saw me walking behind myself oner day at work.I did feel a little faint at the exact moment she saw me.Although I wasn't aware of my splitting up into two.One physical and one spiritual. She said she can see deceased individuals as well as communicate with them.I never knew anyone else who could or would admit to that.

Thank you for coming by DynamicS - your point A of quietness does sound like the way we become one with the way things are supposed to be :) From what I know of you, you're definitely ready to head to whichever point B you decide would be most beneficial! Did you figure out your "why", or the "how"? Those will clarify which to focus on. Would love to know what you decide - and of course, happy to help in any way I can if you'd like me to - you know that right?!

Intriguing...I'm going to read this again to absorb the message. "Deja vu is merely a mind hiccup when we are tired" now that's powerful enlightenment...In quietness I feel more centred and balanced; more like I am/was/supposed to with the universe, my point A in search of point B.

I look forward to part 3.

      Thanks for the light...

Have you experienced one of those whole universe hiccups yet? Think I'll write a hub on those too. No need for forgiveness or any sorrow what-so-ever FP. From all I've read and what I know of you, your humility shines through, your humor delights and the simplicity and acceptance of "reality" teaches us all. Feeling complacent, as though there is little room for improvement, is usually only felt by those whose ego still blinds them so dramatically, they're going through life alone - as if completely separate from the rest of us. I don't get that from you at all.

My response to your question however, was directed to address the only delusional reason anyone could feel there was no room for improvement. Even monks have others around as mirrors to realize the areas they still need to surrender. These days there are people who can and do stay in that delusional state by living by themselves. "through the eyes of a friend, we can see the signs of our own maturity". With no friends, our twisted misinterpretations or one-sided opinions remain hidden to us and strengthen - secluding us even further from the truth and everyone else.

Simplified, as JJ reiterated above, getting out of "react" is when we begin becoming aware. With no one around, we think we're aware but in reality, we have reacted so strenuously to our pain and run from it, rather than dealing with it, we remain blinded in the delusion of seperation and blame. Not accepting response-ability, merely strengthens our inability to respond...

I'm tickled pink you are amazed at how much you can learn when you stop reacting JJ - that is awareness. Perhaps the next step of understanding is to realize these things are not only happening that affect us, we cause them. Life is our perfect mirror for the energy we put out there :) (as explained in: )

Thank you again for coming by and adding your feedback!

I f we accept the statement that 'You are the best now that you have ever been', we must by extension accept that there is room for improvement, if we believe in reincarnation.

I am in full agreement with the lady who stated casually, "By virtue of the fact that we had to come back to this earthly school of duality, means we didn't pass last time. We're here because we didn't get it right." Hence my question posted in my commentary on Part 1. I really don't expect an (one) answer, as the question has a different answer for each of us, I just want THE answer, which is the same for all of us, and becomes the more beautiful in its simplicity when we reach the realization that it really is just that simple.

It amazes me how much we can learn when we stop reacting to our surroundings and begin understanding the things that are happening and how they affect us.

With understanding come realization and belief, which in turn bring peace and understanding..full circle once again.(Possibly over simplified, but you catch my drift)

I can only hope that any people who read these hubs and do not comment on them, are eventually brought to understanding and peace through their own life experiences.

I am looking forward to Part 3!

To any people who are angered in any way by these discussions, comments and hubs, I leave you with the following statement I heard many years ago and didn't really pay attention to

"Anger is only the outward manifestation of inner self-doubt." So get over it and start understanding!!

Hi Feline Prophet :) Now that is confidence my dear! Perhaps with you that is correct :) I once felt that way myself. Seemed I was walking 10' off the ground I felt so high spiritually. Even "dared" God to put someone on my path just to see if I had any "buttons" (issues) left - didn't think I did. I was humbled in a hurry... still recovering and it was years ago :(

About that time a wonderful lady, who was giving a speech to many of us, stated casually, "By virtue of the fact that we had to come back to this earthly school of duality, means we didn't pass last time. We're here because we didn't get it right."

Although Deepak talks about the redundancy of religion these days, with its hypocrisy and futility - that people still bicker over mini differences of opinion is clear proof that we have much yet to learn."

"Had we retained the harmony of the One, the rapture of our love would have remained throughout our lifetimes on earth. But when harmony was lost - through fear, mistrust or a sense of separation from our Source - we became the victims of our negative karma. Separated vibrationally, no longer preferring one another [w.our twin flame] , we were bound by entangling alliances and mutual neglect until our souls cried out for the living God... and each other.

Each incarnation apart from our twin flame was spent either creating negative karma or balancing some of the karma that stood in the way of our reunion. At times we assumed various relationships with our twin flame - husband/wife, mother/son, father/daughter, and sister/brother - in order to unwind the negative strands of energy we had woven into our subconscious through our misuse of free will." - Elizabeth Clair Prophet

If you feel you could face "the Lords of Karma" today FP, and they would not find a single debt you owe, is there even a single soul here on earth you think might need help? If there is, our work here is not finished. In the grander scheme of things > as you go, so go I - we are all connected - we are all in this together...

As always, appreciate you visiting and commenting dear Lady! Hope these little additions have given seed for thought :)

BTW do your experiences with past lives and what you gain from that knowing, differ from what I've shared as the "tip of the iceberg" in this hub?

'You are the best now that you have ever been' - that is such a reassuring statement! Having said that, doesn't it make one kind of complacent - there is the danger that we may think that perhaps there isn't room for improvement?

Thank you so much emohealer! I was beginning to feel as though it was getting too personal - your encouragement is exactly what I needed. Experiencing these things is one thing. Sharing them with people you know have experienced the same is heart warming - but recalling the steps or paradigm shifts needed that may help someone who wants to open the door has been challenging. My heart needed warming to continue - thank you.

As I was writing part 3, "eerie" is the exact word that came out on paper in recalling some experiences before taking the plunge to find out for sure. Strange to remember all the seemingly weird, unrelated suspicions and feelings.

Hope I can find the words to help a few realize how much freer and less strange everything is once the pieces fit into place. Almost a catch 22 because we can't gather the pieces without going there, and without the pieces, trusting "there" is illusive.

Eckhart Tolle as you mentioned teaches one way to take the inner journey. Some travels as you say are not written, they are known. They all begin at the same place and they will all end at the same place..... but the possiblities in-between......unlimiited
