Reasons to Forgive
"And whenever you stand Praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him that your father in heaven may also forgive your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your father in heaven forgive your trespasses". ~Mark 11:25~
Forgiving someone who has wronged you, is easier said than done. But, i must confess, as a christian, it gets easier and easier. However, I remember when i struggled with the concept of forgiveness a great deal. I couldn't forgive you unless you said you were sorry, or unless you forgave me. My biggest thing however, was retaliation. I loved to get revenge. I had a very vengeful spirit. I loved to get even.
I thank God for helping me grow up just a little bit. Now it doesn't matter if you say I'm sorry, I don't have to know that you forgive me, and most of all i am not vengeful, vengence belongs to the Lord. I learned a long time ago that God can take care of the enemy far better than we can, if we let him. Forgiveness comes easy. However, it doesn't mean i will continue to let someone hurt me. I simply cut anything that hurts out of my life, and continue on in forgiveness.
We have to forgive. The Bible says, unless we can forgive one another, we can't receive forgiveness from the father. We have to forgive for ourselves and for the good of our own souls. Forgiveness enables you to move forward in life. It keeps your prayers before God. Forgiveness keeps you free. Lack of forgiveness ruins your life. It keeps you bonded to the thing or person that hurt you, and most of all, it keeps your prayers from being heard.
I say today, whatever or whomever has hurt you, let it go. Start your healing today. Remove yourself from the situation and let it go. Allow Jesus to heal you, and you'll never have to feel the pain again.
May God add a blessing to all whom read his word.
