Religions could be man made

Welcome to my article (45) Religions could be manmade

May God guide and help me to say the right religious things in these writings?

Dear readers, as you know, we are trying to learn everything possible about religions, because we would like to know, whether religions have come about because there have been signs from heaven above. Or it is because man has made all these assumptions by themselves. Anyhow, today we have reached a stage where we can say a few things about this subject.

There are reasons to believe that religions could be man-made, we say that they could be man-made, because we don’t want to say straight that they are man-made, we need to give the benefit of doubts here, because we don’t have the proof required to say that they are completely man-made and there was no signs from heaven above.

Anyhow, if we assume that religious are manmade, we must continue to search for the proof to establish that. Now, because that would be hard to achieve, we may have to believe that religions are man-made, and if we believe that religions are manmade then we need to explain religions in a better way and in different ways also, we need to explain why they have been made up the way that they have been made up.

But that is not all, because religions might not be all made up, you see, we must consider the spiritual side of our religious beliefs. The spiritual side even though is somehow a bit different between religions, all religions have a spiritual side, so, we must assume that there is a spiritual side, and from this spiritual side people have made up our religious beliefs.

Of course, we know that there are some other reasons that we know already, why they have been made up the way they are today, as our religious friends were saying in our last religious articles, because there are reasons to believe that we need to explain religions in better way, if we want religions to continue to serve humanity, as they have done in the past for thousands of years, we have also to admit that religions sometimes have done the wrong things, but overall they have served humanity well.

Now, let us start to talk about religious books

Dear readers, as we have seen from our previous articles of religious discussions with our friends, there are many other religions in the world; therefore, for that reason we might have to assume that religions could be man-made. Now, this does not mean that God does not exist at all, but it means that we should not follow religions blindly, including religious leaders who claim whatever they claim to be true in their religious orders. Therefore, we should use our common sense, now, if we see that something does not make sense, then we should use our logic reasoning to check it out, to see if it is possible that what is being said, may or may not be true.

If we are talking about the Bible, what we want to prove there, is not whether seven days at the beginning of the Bible were seven days or thousands of years; but we want also to prove that whatever is written in the Bible is the truth, which I am afraid it may not be so; look at our article, Flood in the days of Noah, there we can assume that we have proof that the universal flood was not as universal as we are led to believe when we read the Bible. Anyhow, the flood may indeed have happened, but it did not cover the entire world.

Therefore, it is time that mankind wakes up and sees the truth, I know that this is going to hurt many believers, but the truth is that man wrote the bible. It could have been God inspiration at the beginning, but then they wrote and re-wrote it until whoever were in possession of the Bible words could control all believer under them.

Talking about religious issues

Talking religious issues with our religious friends

Since we have intention of writing these religious articles, so, we want to know what other people think, I am going to talk to our friends about religion whenever I meet any one of them.

The other day I went to see Mark and we talked for a while about these religious issues, in our talks we came to the conclusion that we need to criticise the way the Bible is being explained to the believers, when we believe that they have got it wrong, or it is wrong today because we live in different times; with this view in mind we do not mean that the Bible is wrong, but the way that people use it could be wrong, because of those double meanings that occur in the Bible.

Then there is the fact that when the Bible was written the first time, everything was different from today, therefore, the Bible was written according to those time, to guide the people of those times, therefore, if the Bible was to be written these days, it would be written in a different way, we are sure about that.

Now, keeping in mind what we have said above, I and Mark believe that it is necessary to write a few articles, to show the public what we mean about criticising the Bible, when we believe that there are issues that don’t agree with our own understanding of the Bible, and then let the public decide.

Here I must admit that I am thinking about this religious issue, because it does worry me a bit, because most people don’t like anybody that criticise the Bible openly, but anyhow it might be necessary to do it; not only because we would like to show the world that some of those meanings are wrong, but because it is necessary to know the truth, and it is necessary to do something about it.

Now the question arises, where we can find an important enough religious issue that needs to be reported to the public so to speak.

Religious discussions with friends

Religious discussions with Gino and Peter

A few days after my meeting with Mark, I encountered Gino and Peter; we have met Peter in one of the last articles, if I remember right, he said that there must be another logic explanation why the Bible claims that man was made from plain dirt.

Anyhow after chatting about a few happy events, we ended up talking about religions, as I asked them whether they had given any thought about what we were discussing last time we met.

Well they said, we have indeed thought about it, and we still believe that there must be another explanation why the Bible says that man was made from plain dirt. Yes indeed, there is more than one explanation, it is likely that there are several explanations, so, we could tell you what we think could have happened in those times, which suggests that religions are man-made, now, we must look at the reasons why man wanted that God would create man from plain dirt.

Okay I said, I see that you both want to tell me this story of how things could have happened, so, take your time and tell me one story that would make sense, so let us start with a story that both of you believe that it could have been possible. Gino as you are older you can start by telling me this story and Peter can just come in whenever it is appropriate, and thus Gino started talking.

As we have said about the creation of man before, man cannot be created from dirt, because even God has got to be subject to the laws of nature. Apart from that, God first and foremost uses the natural ways to create anything, we believe that this is God’s way of doing things; we also would like to point out that there was no real need for God to make us, so, why he would want to make us the hard way.

But the ancient Jews, wanted that their God had to be more powerful than all the other gods put together, so, they invented their God this extra power, and their God was so powerful that could even create a man from plain dirt.

Here Peter comes in and says do you see what we mean? They (the Jews) wanted this super god that had so much super powers that was even able to create a man from dirt.

Can you just imagine, how powerful a god must be since this God could create a real man from plain dirt? He would indeed be Omnipotent and nothing and no one could we more powerful than this God, we hope that you see what we mean here.

Now let us talk where this idea come from. We believe that this idea came about when man started to make statues and, in their fantasies, wished so much that those statues could become real people or animals, or whatever they had made would come to life. Therefore, they started to think that perhaps God would be able to do that, and thus the whish that God would be able to make those statues become alive was born, and the great God legend in the Bible is a copy of this wish.

I said, I see what you mean, but even this is a doubtful explanation. Thanks for trying anyhow.

This is all what was said about religions at this encounter.

-------------------------------

Jesus Christ is hope for the world

Our Lord Jesus Christ came into this world to reconnect us to God the Father and to give us hope even when there seems to be no hope at all. He taught us to believe in God and God's justice, even if they had no justice in this world.

What we should believe about religions

One may as well ask what we should believe about religions.

During our religious discussions, we are having difficulty in proving that God created life and everything else; and, sometimes even God existence is put to the test, now with this last discussion that I had with our friends Gino and Peter it has become even worse. Sometimes I start thinking that the atheists might be right, when they say that there is no god; and here I may add something myself and say, if there is no god then there is also no God justice in this world and even less justice in the next, since God and religions are the fundamental rules that in a way or another guarantees justice.

There is also the fact that, I cannot explain to myself everything about life, therefore, I believe that there should be a god; there must be a god for many reasons, because for most people if there is no god there is no hope or justice. But our Lord Jesus Christ taught us otherwise, as I am explaining with this photo beside this article.

Can you just imagine that there is no god, then, the people that happen to suffer in this world cannot even think of something that gives them hope, what sort of world is this? Would these people that already find life hard enough, despair even more?

I know that we have even called this hub, Religions could be man-made, but this does not mean that there must not be a god in any shape or form. Anyhow there are indeed many reasons to believe that religions are man-made, but there is the possibility that God really exists, as we have explained in our hub, God exists because life exists.

I believe that we have said enough in this article, so, see you with our next article, where we are talking about the creation of man. After having another religious discussion with our religious friends. See you soon.

May God bless us all?

Hi, Bongani Sibeko; thanks for taking the time to comment on my hub and pointing out that religions are man made. Here we need to explain that religions

To say religion could be man made is really putting it mildly.

Religion is man made. It is an attempt of man to perhaps seek God, but this is the wrong vehicle because from the scriptures we realize that man never lost a religion in the first place and the Son of God never came for a religion as well, as a matter of fact he never joined any religion.

One missing major thing that churches driven by religion fail to preach and teach and practice is what the man lost which is the Kingdom of God and the only thing the Son of God, Jesus brought and preached and taught his disciples is the kingdom of God.

I am new here and my very first hub is on this, I am simply addressing the curse of religion, it has kept us as slaves enough, we need to release ourselves to his kingdom.

      Be blessed everyone.

I believe that my religious theory would not be a good investment to spend money to publish it, because there are not many people who would want to buy it; so I am publishing it in hub pages and in some other Internet free sites.

I know what you are saying that molestation is a lot more in public schools, but that is not to say that the Catholic church should be allowed to practice it; in their case there should be zero tolerance, because that is what they preach and believe.

Yes, I am very much interested in your Reconciliation theory! Please let me know when you publish it!

I have been hearing about the recent scandal in the Catholic church regarding pedophilia. Actually, public schools have more than 10 times the rate of student molestation, so Catholics aren't as bad as people would have you believe. They also have done a lot of good in the world, so it is not our place to condemn them. The reason it's so tragic is that people turn to the church for relief from such things, and it's a shame that it's found in the church as well, even though they have far fewer incidents.

Hi, Say Yes To Life! Thanks for taking the time to comment on my hub. I agree with what you say that we should keep away from cults, and that we should choose our own religion that agrees with us, because all Cults and religions are made to control us and so they might do more harm than good. But I have already my Roman Catholic religion that is mild enough to follow, the only think that I object to this religion is the pedophilia in the clergy, I am also aware that other religions and cults have their own faults, so, I my searching for an answer to this problem, for this reason I am writing my religious theory of Reconciliation of the universe, I hope that one day you read it. May God bless us all.

Yes, all religions are man made. That's why we can't afford to adhere to one mindlessly. To do so puts one at risk for joining a cult (please check out my hubs "My Experience in a Cult" and "How Cults Work"). God exists, but it is no religion's place to speak for Him. We can only speculate as to what He is like.

There are 10 major religions in the world, and hundreds of smaller ones. Feel free to choose whichever one works for you, but remember, none of them have all the answers - no matter what they tell you.
