The Antichrist and the End Times

A long time ago, I reluctantly went to a series of classes about the Bible's most fascinating books, The Book of Revelations, which I knew nothing about. I was not a devout Christian or believer, like many I was sitting on the fence.

The guy teaching the series of classes was Frank. A 60ish old man with the typical gray hair and wrinkles. At the time, I sort of doubted many things he said until proven logically, and in hindsight, his teachings proved to be enlightening and keeps me watching for signs of the End Times.

Perhaps he was an angel for he was quite intense and always soft spoken, yet commanding your attention. Doubters soon became believers. At the time, I thought of the Jim Jones Cult, but he never asked for money or to be followed. He simply had a message, which was, the End Times are upon us.

What does that mean?

Certain threshold events had to happen before harkening these times. Israel had to become a nation, it did so in 1948. Atomic power had to occur, this did so in 1945.

A generation had to pass since 1948, which is 80 years. So, 2028 or so, may be the End Times.

The days of instant communication had to happen, this evolved over time from the 70s, but really became "instant" in the last five years with cell phones, internet, websites.

Credit cards had to begin, which did so in the 60s, more importantly, debit cards had to happen, which did so in the late 80s. Micro-processing chips had to be invented and widely available, this happened in the 80s and 90s. The technique of using chips for identification of an individual, had to happen, this happened in the 90s, although not widely used.

The original NATO country members had to allow many more nations into it to total 13, this happened in the 90s and later. The emergence of China as a major world player had to occur, this is reaching the culmination very soon. The nuclear Iran had to occur, which is now happening, some think Iran already has a few. The never ending dispute between Israel and Palestinians must continue, it has. There had to have been a worldwide change in climate, there is now.

The advent of the Covid pandemic beginning in 2020 and continues still in 2022, is certainly a sign of pestilence and disease that plaques the world.

All of these things were mentioned by Frank back in the early 80s. Many had not been heard of, like debit cards. Instant communications and taking a picture with a cell phone and sent it to a friend 6000 miles away within minutes, was totally unfathomable in the 80s and 90s. There were no cell phones then. No Internet.

Book of Revelations

Frank taught us to watch for these signs. He taught from the Book of Revelations, visions that Daniel and John saw 2000 years ago and tried to describe and write down in the words of their day and understanding. How would you describe something never seen before that was 2000 years into the future? You would by relating to it with words and descriptions that were known to you in your time.

A few examples

In Daniel, he saw many "locusts swarming with tails that sting or produced fire. They had a face like a locust but made thundering sound as the flew". Some might think too literally but Daniel was describing modern day attack helicopters firing missiles in a war. Helicopters sounds exactly like horses stampeding, if you look at one from the front, they look like an insect or locust. As for the antichrist, some think it is a single person who rises to power and idolized by all. Maybe. Others feel it is a group of nations and the 13 members of NATO (which includes all the major Western powers) or these nations provide the power to a single person with worldwide charisma. This person is supposed to have 18 letters in their name (666).

There is a six-year period called the Tribulations. The first three years are mostly natural disasters, climate changes, starvation, disease, war on a small scale or localized. Many think this began in 2020. At midway, the antichrist reveals himself and forces everyone to renounce Jesus and believe in him. Those that do not take the 666 sign (Mark of the Beast) will not be able to buy or sell anything. This mark is in the left palm.

Mark of the Beast

Some think it is the credit or debit card, others think that at some point, all citizens will be required to accept a small microchip with their personal data to be inserted just under their skin. The procedure can already be done and is in use. The chip will have all your financials and personal data. When you buy food, just have the scanner scan your hand and the amount is deducted from your bank account. At some point, the antichrist will control the major financial banks of the world. If you do not have this chip or "mark", you cannot buy in this manner. How long will cash be around?

It is quite a shock sliding your debit card at a gas station and receiving a message indicating it has been rejected when you know the money in the account is sufficient to cover it. Think about how easy it is to control people via financial international banks. The incident always reminds me of what Frank taught. Chilling.

Between 2022-2028

Events are starting to ramp up on the world stage. First is the Russia-Ukraine issue still unresolved since 2015. Putin has massed troops and threatens to invade to reclaim what was once part of Russia. Secondly, China will be tempted to retake Taiwan after the Winter Olympics are finished. Thirdly, the Middle East will continue to simmer over Iran and Yemen. All these were predicted as events that will diminish the prestige of the USA, that continues to have internal political issues stemming from the 2020 election. America is divided and in the End Times America is not much of a threat.

Daniel saw this final war through a vision and tried to describe the many tactical nuclear weapons (flashes of light or destructive fireballs) that exploded across the region. Like any war, it really spreads and spins totally out of control until Jesus returns to halt it.

All of the developments leading up to the End Times are subtle. They are valid in today's world and there is a logic in using them, whatever they are. The immigration issue may dictate a national ID card that eventually will be implanted in every US citizen in order that it cannot be compromised or stolen. Perhaps the chip will have a dual purpose that the public is not told about. The same can be said about credit cards or debit cards to prevent loss and fraud. People may get the "Mark of the Beast" without even knowing about it at the time.

The key thing to remember is that the mark is in the left hand. If it ever comes to pass that the government dictates some sort of chip being implanted there, you know the time is near and close. Daniel saw this event 200 years ago.
