The Wonderful Name of Jesus!

Believers love the name of Jesus. And rightfully so because it is through this name, souls are saved, deliverance is gained and bodies are made whole. This name brings quiet to the storm, light into darkness and hope into despair.

What makes this name so powerful? Why is this name called wonderful? How is this name so effective?

Power In The Name

Jesus, came to earth in a human body, lived a sinless life, and sowed us the character of the Father. Jesus taught the ways of the Father and showed the love of the Father by healing, delivering and prospering the people. Jesus successfully fought the devil, by overcoming his evil works, words and actions. Finally, He represented us as He went to the cross, died, was buried, and rose from the dead. He paid the price for our separation from God.

In Matthew 28:18, Jesus said all power in heaven and earth had been given unto Him.... what kind of power is this? What power is there in heaven and what power is there in earth? It must be tremendous; and to think, Jesus has been given all of it. He then turns around and gives us the right to that power by giving us the authority to use His name. This is not a casual thing, Jesus has given us the power of attorney to use His name!

Just Say His Name.....

Power Given to Us

When one has the power of attorney one has the legal authority to access everything owned, controlled or governed by the person who gave them the power of attorney.

This being so, the question becomes what does the name of Jesus have power over? Well, what did Jesus conquer?

  • He conquered death, both spiritually and naturally
  • He conquered sin, sickness and poverty
  • He conquered the temptations of the devil

There doesn't seem to be much left to conquer after these things. In fact, everthing is encompassed in one of these areas. Not only has Jesus conquered these areas, but in His teachings he showed us how to gain personal victory in these areas. He showed us that through the use of His name, we could experience the same victory that He experienced.

Use What You've Got

You don't have to be a theologian to use the name of Jesus. You only need to believe what He says about Himself. God deals with us in simplicity, we make life difficult. The need in man to control something takes us to a place where we try and control who can come to God. Religion says wash your hands and clean your face, then you can come to God.

God say's come as you are and I will clean you up in my way. He tells us not to consider our past, but to only look at His provision for our lives. To, look at His undying love for us, to expect nothing of ourselves, but to totally rely on Him to lead, guide and instruct us in our new life.

So, make up in your mind to just use His name.

  • Jesus, wonderful counselor
  • Jesus, mighty God
  • Jesus, everlasting Father
  • Jesus, prince of peace
  • Jesus, holy one
  • Jesus, son of the highest
  • Jesus, Lord God Almighty
  • Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords
  • Jesus, the way, the truth, the life
  • Jesus, author and finisher of our faith
  • Jesus, light of the world
  • Jesus, resurrection and life
  • Jesus, name above all names
  • Jesus, the same, yesterday, today, and forever
