What does The Word mean

Updated on August 29, 2012

The Greek explanation.

The Word was referring to the Greek meaning. In Greek the Word symbolized God with God and God with man.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.He was with God in the beginning.Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made John 1:1-3

This means Jesus is God. As well it means Jesus was from the beginning, not that He did not exist until His earthly birth. It also signifies that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are individuals while being one.

Jesus gives us true spiritual life. Those that accept Jesus He gives Spiritual life in Heaven and we are members of a Holy family.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. John 1:14

This means Jesus that became flesh and walked amongst us.

As such, He experienced everything we have and so much more. When you have problems or heartaches who better to go to than someone who already experienced it? So be open and honest with Jesus knowing He understands how you feel because He has already experienced it. When it talks about dwelling it is referring to the tent of the tabernacle which Gods presence whereas now God is now present in us.

"To believe God is to worship God." — Martin Luther

Prayer: Jesus although this is truly a mystery to me about how You God and the Holy Spirit can be one yet three. I guess I will have to wait until I get to Heaven for You to explain it to me. What is important though is that You are a kind and loving Savior that I can confide in because You have already experienced everything in my life and so much more. Thank you Jesus for humbling Yourself in such a colossal way so as to experience our pains and concerns. In Your awesome name I pray. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
