Attitude With Gratitude
Attitude With Gratitude
Some time ago my prayer partner called me and asked me to agree with him in prayer against the storms that were supposed to happen late in the night. So I prayed with him while I was driving on my way to the store with my daughter. We actually got finished praying as I drove in the parking lot. We said our goodbyes and my daughter and I headed into the store, with my thoughts still reflecting on our prayer.
In not forgetting those people who have come to me in genuine concern for the losses of the people in their states here in the US, as well as other countries. I was deeply saddened to see these people suffer and do without. I told my daughter that I wanted to quickly get what we had to get done so that we didn't have to be out in the freezing cold. I was in no mood for being out there so late shopping in this windy/rainy day in the first place.
My daughter proceeded to let me know that she needed this and/or that with such haste, and if she didn't get those things then she would surely be without. My goodness; so little in comparison to those who were really without. While we finally got done with our shopping and we got back inside the car. It was so windy as I was complaining how cold it was. That's when it finally hit me! The Lord wants His children to be thankful and to stop complaining!

Discussion
So I had a talk with my daughter about always having to have the things that she thinks she needs so much. Now for those of you who don't know, she is special needs and sometimes she feels that if she doesn't get certain things she needs it is something she can't deal with.
As I rambled on about her needs being so little in comparison to so many, I also told her that she needs to have an Attitude with gratitude. What if something happened to us where perhaps we lost our homes, didn't have electricity, food, etc.? I explained that her needs were so little in comparison to many out there with so much less. We need to be thankful for what we do have.
Psalm 92;1, 4-5
It is good to give thanks to the Lord and sing praises to Thy name,O Most High; to declare Thy loving-kindness in the morning. and Thy faithfulness by night... For Thou, O Lord, hast made me glad by what Thou hast done, I will sing for joy at the work of Thy hands. How great are Thy works, O Lord!
Stop Your Whinning
and complaining
People we need to stop our whining for such little petty things and start being more thankful because we have a lot in comparison to so many others in the world. Did you notice I said we? I speak for myself too, if only we would begin to look around and start seeing the needs of many, then we would most likely notice that our minor needs wouldn't even compare. We can never be thankful enough. When we cultivate a spirit of thankfulness with a loving attitude, we would see our entire life change before us. God's grace is a spirit of giving thanks and praise!
Psalm 100-4
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him.

The Love Of God
True gratitude
True gratitude leads us to love God more for who He is than for what He has done. Stop your complaining and start being more grateful. We live because He gave us life. Praise the Lord!
Now imagine that you have been given a life sentence to a maximum security prison. You are not allowed visitors, you cannot receive mail of any form, and you cannot get any phone calls. You are prohibited from reading, watching television or taking classes. You are not allowed outside or even allowed to visit with other prisoners. Imagine this horror of such an existence.
Then imagine what it would be like to one day have the door of your cell opened by someone with a smiling face. And that smiling face looks at you and says, "You are free to go." You would certainly ask, "What do you mean?" And the person would say, "You are free to return to your family, your enjoyments, and most importantly your life. The stain of your imprisonment is gone. Go! Live and enjoy!" You would probably ask, "How is this possible?" The answer, "It is possible because I paid your debt. I have taken your place. You are free."
Would you be grateful? You bet you would! You would never forget what that person had saved your from. You would never take for granted the simple blessings of everyday life again. You would hug that person. You would weep. You would stare speechless at them. Attitude With Gratitude!

How to be positive - Our words and actions have a lot to do with the outcome of our daily lives
I know I have sometimes used words and/or have complained in a situation that only magnified the problem instead of helping it. It makes a huge difference in how we respond to life's situations. These books can give us some tips on how to use our words more wisely. So that the outcome of any situation can turn around and become a negative to a positive.

Psalm 103:1-5

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit; Who crowns you with loving-kindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are the giver of ALL life. I thank You Lord for the gift of life which You have given me. Teach me to recognize the sacredness of my precious life. Teach me to honor the sacredness of others. Remove me from the selfishness that prevents me from experiencing the majesty of each soul. Help me to recover from the indignities that I have suffered and which have diminished my self respect.
Lord please Restore in me the conscious understanding that Your Holy Spirit lives within me and that all my actions and thoughts should reflect the holiness of Your indwelling Presence. Sanctify my life Heavenly Father, that I might be a blessing to all whom I meet. Let this world be a brighter place because You reached out to others through my simple acts of kindness. Help me to believe in my own goodness that I may resist temptation and celebrate Your gift of life this day. Amen.
