Attitude With Gratitude

Attitude With Gratitude

Some time ago my prayer partner called me and asked me to agree with him in prayer against the storms that were supposed to happen late at night. I prayed with him while I was driving on my way to the store with my daughter. We actually got finished praying as I drove in the parking lot of the store. We said our good byes and my daughter and I headed on into the store with my thoughts still reflecting on our prayer and not forgetting those people who have come to me in genuine concern for the losses of the people in their states and in other countries deeply saddened to see their people suffer and do with out. I told my daughter that I wanted to quickly get what we had to get done so that we didn't have to be out in the cold. I was in no mood for being out there so late shopping in this windy cold rainy day. My daughter proceeded to let me know that she needed this and that as though if she didn't get those things she would be without. My goodness so little in comparison to those who were really without. While we finally got done with our shopping and we got to the car and it was so windy as I complained how cold it was. Then it hit me! The Lord wants His children to be thankful and to stop complaining!

Mother and Daughter

So I had a talk with my daughter about always having to have the things that she thinks she needs so much.... now for you who don't know she is special needs and sometimes she feels that if she don't get the things she needs it is something she can't deal with. As I rambled on about her needs being so little in comparison to so many I told her that she needs to have an Attitude with gratitude. What if something happen to us where we lost our homes, didn't have electricity etc.? I explained that her needs were so little in comparison to many. We needed to be thankful for what we do have.

Psalm 92;1, 4-5

It is good to give thanks to the Lord and sing praises to Thy name,O Most High; to declare Thy loving-kindness in the morning. and Thy faithfulness by night... For Thou, O Lord, hast made me glad by what Thou hast done, I will sing for joy at the work of Thy hands. How great are Thy works, O Lord!

Stop Your Whinning

and complaining

People we need to stop our whining for such little petty things and start being more thankful because we have alot compared to so many, you notice I said we; I speak for myself too, if only we would begin to look around and start seeing the needs of many;

our needs wouldn't even compare. We can never be thankful enough. When we cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving with the right attitude we would see our whole life's change before us. God's grace is a spirit of thanksgiving and praise!

Psalm 100-4

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him.

Joel Osteen

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

Thomas Jefferson

Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.

Winston Churchill

Gratitude: The state of being grateful; warm and friendly feeling toward a benefactor; kindness awakened by a favor received; thankfulness.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

John F. Kennedy

Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.

Brian Tracy

How to be positive - Our words and actions have a lot to do with the outcome of our daily life

I know I have used words and have complained in a situation that only magnified the problem instead of helping it. It makes a huge difference in how we respond to life's situations. These books can give us some tips on how to use our words more wisely. So that the outcome of any situation can turn around and become a negative to a positive.

The Love Of God

True gratitude

True gratitude leads us to love God more for who He is than for what He has done. Stop your complaining and start being more grateful. We live because He gave us life. Praise the Lord!

Imagine that you have been given a life sentence to a maximum security prison. You are not allowed visitors, you can receive no mail, and you cannot get any phone calls. You are prohibited from reading, watching television or taking classes. You are not allowed outside or to visit with other prisoners. Imagine the horror of such an existence.

Then imagine what it would be like to one day have the door of your cell opened by someone with a smiling face. And that smiling face looks at you and says, "You are free to go." You would certainly ask, "What do you mean?" And the person would say, "You are free to return to your family, your life, your enjoyments. The stigma of your imprisonment is gone. Go! Live and enjoy!" You would probably ask, "How is this possible?" The answer, "It is possible because I paid your debt. I have taken your place. You are free."

Would you be grateful? You bet you would! You would never forget what that person had saved your from. You would never take for granted the simple blessings of everyday life again. You would hug that person. You would weep. You would stare speechless at them. Attitude With Gratitude!

Peace and contentment are the fruits of the heart that is full of continual thanksgiving.

Give Thanks

To Him

Ephesians 5:20

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The instruction to give thanks appears 35 times in scripture. Peace and contentment are the fruits of the heart that is full of continual thanksgiving.

Thessalonians 518

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

The Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.

God has two dwellings; one in heaven, and the other in a meek and thankful heart." - Izaak Walton

Psalm 103:1-5

Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life form the pit; Who crowns you with loving-kindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Heavenly Father, You are the giver of ALL life. I thank You, Lord, for the gift of life which You have given me. Teach me to recognize the sacredness of my life. Teach me to honor the sacredness of others. Remove from me the selfishness that prevents me from experiencing the majesty of each soul. Help me to recover from the indignities that I have suffered and which have diminished my self respect. Restore in me the conscious understanding that Your Holy Spirit lives in me and that all my actions and thoughts should reflect the holiness of Your indwelling Presence. Sanctify my life, Heavenly Father, that I might be a blessing to all whom I meet. Let this world be a brighter place because You reached out to others through my simple acts of kindness. Help me to believe in my own goodness that I may resist temptation and celebrate Your gift of life this day. Amen.

I want to thank Locallmpact,Jimbarnes, snakesmum, winwriter for all your awesome comments and support. Tipi I wasn't aware of you facing flood warnings too. Thank God that you don't have to evacuate keep that hope and faith and you will see the light at the end of the tunnel it is there no doubt in my mind. I remember someone telling me that when they told me that my son was terminally ill, it was hard to see it then but there is a light that is God's promise to us.

Thanks for stirring up gratitude in me...and that's the best attitude to have because God receives it as thanks with a grateful heart to the Holy One Who gave us Jesus Christ.....that song has been going through me since I saw your lens title. Thank you for your prayers on my behalf, the tunnel is still long but I'm seeing a light in the distance. We have reached flood stage here in Fargo and bless God, the predicted crest has been dropped to 39 feet, which means I won't need to evacuate from my neighborhood, there was a prediction earlier of 44 feet and a lot of prayers went out...we're working and grateful...glory! :)

What a great lens and I hope more people get to read it. It never hurts to be reminded that we should express gratitude for all of the blessings God has given us. There are Christians right now who are suffering for their faith and they all need our prayers for strength and courage. God bless you for writing this lens.
