“Our greatest happiness does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed us, but is always the result of a good conscience, good health, occupation, and freedom in all just pursuits.”
― Thomas Jefferson
Thanks, Thomas Jefferson. Some things N E VE R change!
1.) Good conscience. Following The Ten Commandments consciously with love for self and others.
2.) Good health. Good diet / Free of addictions to all substances. Exercise, fresh air and restful sleep.
3.) Good occupation. One which we have an aptitude for and desire to do. Education. Know your Math and how to apply it in the concrete world. Know how to Read and Write and understand the lessons of accurate History. Make sure our children have access to a good education which will enable them to live in the world successfully. They need skills based on their interests and natural inclinations.
4.) Freedom in all JUST pursuits. Laws and boundaries followed to the benefit of self and others.
The woman with the covered head has something to say which applies to all of us. She is very insightful.
This (edit: apparently) desperate child speaks for all children, in a way.
