do you think that you can make non-believers in god into believers?
i'm talking about here on hub pages and why do you think you can?
personally, no. people usually rebuke this kind of argument and they shut you off even before you start.
No. I can only testify to me seeing and experiencing the other side of death that were given to me by GOD on August 1, 1982 A.D. a Sunday morning. It is priceless and GOD blessed me with the vision of the other side of death for human beings. I do have a head start and advantage over this information about the other side of death. It is glorious.
Noone can "make" someone else become believers. Only God can do that. I am here on hubpages to scatter the "seed" that God uses to convict people in their heart. I do this by adding scripture into my hubs where appropriate, answering questions like this and by hopefully showing my Christian love (this is harder in words than in person) when possible. In the end, it is between the person and God when they make that decision and whether or not that decision is true salvation or not.
No I do not, BUT, If I do nothing, If I do not atleast introduce them to the possibility God offers. It is wrong. For God desires all of His children to know Him and believe that He is who He claims He is. GOD.
No - I am an atheist who has read large tracts of the Bible. Every time I pick up the Bible and read a little more it re-inforces my atheism.
With me the people who simply write (mindlessly repeat) stuff that they have read in the Bible - here on hubpages - are never going to convince me that they are 'right'. If I don't believe the Bible why should I believe its mindless repetition?
Moa Tse-Tung once said, 'Give me the boy for six years and I will give you the man.'
THIS IS HOW YOU MANUFACTURE A BELIEVER - BY BRAINWASHING A CHILD!
Well we: the atheists here on hubpages, are all adults . So how could someone: who was mentally crippled as a child and never got over it, convince us that their biblical fairy tale has any more validity than the fairy tales written by the Brothers Grimm?
You dont make people change their beliefs. I do however think that you can share your beliefs on here and occasionally someone will see things the way you do.
In Matthew 28::19 Jesus gave us the Great Commission. He said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." As believers, it is our responsibility to share what Jesus has taught us through God's Holy Word in the Bible. Not one of us can "make" a non believer into a believer. God changes hearts, not us. We are just messengers for Him. You have your free will that He gave you. Each person has the right to make the choice whether or not to believe. So...choose!
"peterxdunn"... If you think only brainwashed children grow up as believers...think again. I was 52 years old when I was Born Again!
There is Scientific proof of God’s existence, it’s Time to Wake up before it’s too late, check out the Video and see for yourself, The Lord exist he is not a fairy tale, he is REAL, it’s time for the non- believer to believe before it’s too late, take the blinder OFF and see for yourself. Bless it Be

Your question reminds me of a piece of graffiti I saw written on the wall in a university toilet. Someone had written
'My mother made me a homosexual'
Some one else had written underneath
'If I get her the wool will she make me one too.'
I don't think people can make believers, though I do believe that God can use a person's life or testimony in that process.

Why do believers of God like to criticise the non-believers?

We hear often of atheists claiming that have looked for evidence of God but can find none but what would convince them? How do they go about investigating? How do they expect believers to prove it to them when it can only be proved to oneself and not by another?

I have often seen the misguided claim that atheism was at the heart of mass killings such as Stalin's murders and Mao's bloodlettings. Of course, the fallacy is confusion between correlation and causation. Seems to me that those who hold to a continuum, i.e., a life after mortal death, would...

In Christianity, do non believers go to hell? What happens to the people that believe in another religion and another God. If the Christian God is the only true God, then are those people damned?

Two relatively similar people are presented with the Bible and the message of Christianity. Person one takes to it eagerly. Person two pushes it as far away as it will go. What is the difference between these two people? Lets add that the two people have identical upbringings, are the same sex,...

Something I've noticed here in the forum is that there would appear to be as many flavours of God as there are believers. I won't mention any names, but I've noticed that inclusive, welcoming people have an inclusive God who loves everyone; people who like the idea of judgment and punishment have a...
