The current Bible holds the writings of approximately 40 different men, apparently!

There are a lot of answers to that question: God; Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, and James; David, Solomon, and I think Moses but not sure. Plus there are others I've forgotten, there are books of the bible no longer included, and books that have never been included, and books included by certain churches. That's a question for a grad student studying theology, they will give you a 50000 word answer without it being conclusive.

The men hired by Roman rulers like Constantine wrote the modern Bible. Of course most of what they have written coincides with the Dead Sea Scrolls. However there are very important theological and faith based ideologies introduced by them which might not have formed part of the original Bible which was mostly verbal and fragmented.
