What does the Bible say about gambling? Is gambling a sin?
The bible says nothing about gambling. So if it is not mentioned, or at least explicitly forbidden by the 613 Mosaic laws, then it is not a sin. Some may consider gambling to be poor stewardship, but that is personal interpretation.
What is sin? It is the transgression of God's laws. Thou shalt not gamble isn't exactly in Scripture, however, God does judge our thoughts and our motives. Most people who gamble want money and they want money by not working for it.
I believe the apostle Paul mentioned, "If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat," 2 Thessalonians 3:10.
Proverbs also says, "Wealth gotten by vanity will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase," Proverbs 13:11.
Another way you can look at gambling is to ask yourself, would you see Jesus betting at the race track or doubling down in Vegas?
There is no clear law on gambling in the bible, but its consequences result in sin. Gambling puts one's life on chance as opposed to trusting God to bless one's finances. In the area of mental health, gambling could be addictive and lead to other problems like crime, job loss and destruction of family relationships among others. I believe anything that has control over one's life other than God eventually leads to sin.

The Bible says that all one has to do is ask for forgiveness. Now being that, do you think that Satan might have already asked God for forgiveness? Now before you rattle off scripture.....I don't believe...but I could be wrong....that the Bible has nothing to say on that.
