I do not presume to know all the references but in Jeremiah it is about the Ammonites specifically and we know that Jeremiah lived to see his prophecy come true while on the other hand, what Ezekiel is seeing is about a place called Gog and Magog and that prophecy is so dire that many people who study the writings in the Bible do not believe these have happened yet. What the two chapters have in common is the reference to the north/Jeremiah sees a pot with stuff pour out of the north and God says yes, the destruction will come from the north and Ezekiek also sees horrible things coming from the north and terrible things happening in Israel/but in both books the last message is what I hold onto/that in the end the love God has for everyone will prevail/I read both chapters as a message of Gods compassion and protection for people who are powerless against humans that choose that do evil things.
