Simply seek God through prayer, the Sacraments, and/or contemplation.
Stay in the presence of God and you can overcome him. Used the armor of God in Ephesians chapter 6, the defensive and offensive weapon. Read Matthews chapter 4, the wilderness temptation, how Jesus won the war against temptation. He was full of the Holy Spirit and he uses the Word of God, the sword of the Holy Spirit.
You wake up and do the best you can every single day. Everyone caves into temptation or does things which are counterproductive from time to time. Just remember Ecclesiastes 7:20 (KJV)

There are things that you can do to establish impulse control. i.e.-Going to Anger Management, meditating, exercising, or just really taking the time to think about the consequences of your actions.
However, there is no evidence of any devils tempting anyone.
