Why can octopus predict competition outcome?
Remember South Africa World cup, that octopus correctly predict every match's outcome. Later, in Australia, they decide for fun use it to predict election outcome and surprisingly, the prediction is also accurate. Any thought?
I don't think an actopus or humans for that matter can predict anything.
The Detroit Red Wing fans have a custom of tossing dead octopus (usually one) on the ice at the beginning of the NHL playoffs. This playoff year it accidentally landed next to the Tampa Bay Lightning bench; this is an octopus discerning that the Lightning would win the cup. However, although they got to the finals, they lost to the Chicago Black Hawks. So the octopus prediction was a wee bit off...
Thus, I would text, this octo-ability may perhaps be over-rated...
