Like Mormons saying that Jesus visited the Americas. Like Urantia book saying Jesus was one of the 70,000 "sons" of God whom He had sent to different planets to reform the people therein(like Jesus came down to earth)
If your answer is going to be :"I do not believe them at all", Have you read Mormon's Bible and Urantia book?
I think everything is theory, no matter what book you do or don't read.
It's really not if you took the time and effort to think about it.
Think outside of your belief box.
I just choose a different theory.... nice to see you here again marine, hope you had a good saturnalia...
Fine Marine, were you one of the banned ones, or have you just been busy?
Nah, I just got bored with the forums and tried to be more productive lately. lol
I have not heard that one before! Does that mean there are 70,000 planets with life forms as evolved as us then? We should maybe put some more effort in finding them
So what you are trying to say is that I should read every book that says it is from God. When I finish my reading in about 500 years or so, then I will be able to make an informed decision?
Theories are theories. Mostly they are just guesses and are related to subjectivity and bias.
The Bible is fact. It is beyond just being a theory even if I can't prove it to you or anyone else.
Unicorns are fact. They are beyond just being a fairy tale even if I can't prove it to you or anyone else.
That's only because you are addicted to it. In reality, the notion that there is an invisible being who loves you, more than anything else does, is not even to the level of a theory. It is a fairytale. Some of the books that you dismiss as just theories actually make more sense than your religion!
The computer you use, internet connection and this forum must all be "subjective and biased" and simply do not exist, yes, DirDent?
Would you like me to answer your thoughts for you of why you think it is profound?
Just for my entertainment, I will do it anyways. You have emotions tied into your religious belief that you think is true facts. You get upset that your belief could be only theory without being absolute, so your feelings get hurt and you call it "profound" that your belief and all others could be nothing more than theory. Am I wrong?
Well, there has to be an element of honesty for you to believe anything. For example, Urantia book says that the prophesies in the old testament books were all inserted AFTER Jesus' time. if you read the context, you will know that urantia's contention is a clever manipulation. Not the prophesies
I disagree. There doesn't have to be any honesty for something to be believed. It only has to be believed as honesty. Just because something is believed as honesty doesn't mean that it is honest.
Honesty in a person can't always be perceived but only be discerned. A body's past history should be a pointer to it. So, you have no reason to disbelieve jesus
lol Thanks for proving my theory correct. Well done.
No such thing if everything is only theory. Do you think I was being cynical?
Read.... "The Emerald Tablets" - There is Far less racial degradation in them than the Mormon documentation and founding policies.
Theories theories endless theories.
Where is the truth?
Right where it has always been, in the singleness of the heart.
But men are to double minded to see it.
Ooh, I can make up a religion too. Just give me a few minutes here...
I shall call it Alessiatarian. Yes, that seems fitting. And Alessiatarians believe that Jesus was an alien that came to Earth to probe people's bums, but Jesus also had this charming way about him. He probed a lot of people's bums and they all enjoyed it immensely. Then the Romans got jealous because Jesus was so much better at probing bums than they were, and they crucified him. So then people decided Jesus would come back again someday to probe their bums and provide them pleasure.
So... who wants to join my religion? I mean, it could be true. Who knows, right?
(By the way, this post was to represent that anyone can make up a story and claim it was real. It means no disrespect.)

I came to the HubPages Forum several months ago posting a "challenge" that must have seemed presumptuous (though I didn't intend it) or (perhaps) arrogant of me... By the end of it though, I considered my beliefs to be as substantial, if not moreso, than those of anyone who came to check...

If we heard about something similar today (someone's body goes missing, then three days later someone Tweets they saw the person), wouldn't we just call it a conspiracy theory?Indeed, if most major religions were started today, wouldn't we just call them a combination of fake news, conspiracy...

Some one just accused me of making a personal attack on them because I said they are ignorant of certain facts. Any one who has interacted with me here will know I try not to make personal attacks, other than to make fun of people, and these threads are littered with snipped personal attacks on me...
