I don't have any kind of incense, but would perfume work the same way?
I'm new to the Wiccan religion and my parents (who are cristian) don't know (my mom highly disproves of "voodoo" as she generalizes all magik) so I can't just ask "hey mom can I have some incense" without her getting suspicious (I'm glad she didn't ask to many questions about the candle tbh)
Tools such as candles and incense are used to help you focus your mind on a specific intention. So perfume, room spray, wax melts or a scented candle should do the trick just fine.
If you are able to get a hold of some incense you do not have to burn it. Keep it in an airtight box and open the box whenever you want to release the smell.
You can use many common household items to perform spells and rituals. This makes it much easier when your parents don't approve. Just hold the item in your hands and focus on filling it with magical energy. Then you can use it as you need.

Well, why don't I share a little extra with you. The purpose of life is to know God, to become one with His Will and Consciousness; to become a humble instrument of His.
The flame of the candle is a symbol of Aspiration; of the burning hunger in our Hearts. Flowers are fragrant, fresh and sufficient unto themselves. Incense attracts the Higher beings, who come to help. Emanations and Arch angels are coming from a higher, purer world and so these 'aids' if you like, are a great help.
Bear in mind, however, that deep meditation relies on a surrender to the Will of something Higher, made so by an intense inner yearning or longing for this 'thing'. If you can, let it be God and not magic, as this is slower and more dangerous than the way of the Heart.Praise be!!

For the sailor, I like clear water (of any brand, Davidoff, etc.), musk (especially in the evening). It's like a cologne splash; not irritating to the nose.
