Well, rather than ranting about The Powers taking away our rights it might be more productive to imagine - just for a split second - that might be there were never such thing as human rights? wink

Hence, we only have actions and consequences?

I don't have the answer to this one. Try to ask Jenny wink

I personally think we "have" our lives to enjoy (as much as we can talk about "having" in a world without rights smile ). To enjoy our selves, our kids, our parents, our significant others, our relatives, our friends, and total strangers alike - and all the World that surrounds us smile

Yeah me too.  I look at the stars everyday and I enjoy them.  I enjoy my kid as much as she frustrates me, I enjoy my moms dinginess and we fight all the time.  I love to laugh at as much as I can.  And I don't take for granted what I do have even if I do wish for more at times.  smile

Tactical squad to some guys sittin' on their porch. "Get in the house". "We don't have to. This is a free country."
Wap on the legs with a baton. "Get in the house". Personally witnessed this. You have rights to the extent
that the authority in a given circumstance allows you those rights. If they do not can always sue, it is a right.
    But good luck there.

I saw mention of Oriana Fallaci on this forum but cannot find it again. I know that she was very important to our social thinking at the time as we didn't have the likes of Gloria Steinheim on the scene and Susie Orbach was yet to achieve standing.
