2010 new york giants
Week 14 Giants defeat Vikings
The New York Giants are riding a winning wave for the last 3 games, Call it a winning streak but this week the Giants meet up with their division rival Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams come into this Sunday's clash with a 9-4 record. The Eagles have won 5 of their last 6 games,
Bottom line is whoever wins this game will own the lead in the NFC East with just two more games to go. The last time these two teams faced each other, Philadelphia won 27-17. Michael Vick has never been hotter and the Eagles defense leads the league in Interceptions, Eli Manning has thrown more interceptions than any other QB thus far this season. Though the Eagles' offense ranks second in average points per game (28.8) and first in total yards per game (402.8), the defense is not so formidable. The defensive edge goes to the Giants since they are second in the league in total yards and passing yards allowed. The offensive edge goes to the Eagles due to the mobility of Vick, his superior accuracy, and the higher yards-per-catch average of top receivers DeSean Jackson (23.1) and Jeremy Maclin (14.6).
Snow wind and rain is the outlook for the weather conditions. But whatever comes this is sure to be one hellava game. Stay tuned!

NFL Week 9

New York Giants Cruise to NFL's Best Record
New York’s Giants among four teams tied for the National Football League’s best record at 6-2 following Week 9 road victories. The Giants opened a 35-0 halftime lead in a 41-7 rout of the Seattle Seahawks Sunday Nov. 8, 2010 that extended their winning streak to five games.
Many are now calling the New York the best team in a wide-open NFC, the Giants are fighting hard to not buy into the praise that comes with such a turnaround. And isnt that just how Tom Couglin likes it.
Eli Manning nearly ended the day with a perfect QB rating, having a 290-yard passing day along with three touchdowns. His second touchdown pass to Steve Smith for six yards and his third to tight end Kevin Boss made it 35-0 at halftime. Another of those touchdowns came on a great 46 yard completion to Hakeem Nicks who continued his breakout season with another 6 catches and 128 yards.
The Giants running game was firing on all cylinders, as the combination of Bradshaw, Brandon Jacobs and D.J. Ware put up more than 200 yards.
After the game this is what Eli Manning said about getting a touch down to Kevin Boss,
"Yeah,
I was happy to get him a touchdown. He was a captain today. He was
excited about that. I know he was a little frustrated after the first
possession, having a fumble. So it was good to get him in the end
zone. He was fired up and excited. He's always been great for us down
in the red zone, scoring touchdowns, and it was good to get him back in
there."
Next week, the Giants will host the soap opera known as the Dallas Cowboys. A date at Philadelphia looms in two weeks. These represent important games, the kind that could cement the Giants as the class of their conference.

Eli Manning led the Giants to win its fourth consecutive and is alone atop the NFC East. The New York Giants quarterback tied his career best with four touchdown passes, Brandon Jacobs ran 30 yards for a touchdown and Lawrence Tynes kicked a career-best 53-yard field goal as the New York Giants turned an ugly start into a 41-35 victory over the Cowboys on Monday night.
Hakeem Nicks caught 2 touchdown passes and totaled 108 yards receiving, and Steve Smith had a touchdown and 101 yards receiving.
Tony Romo fractured his left clavicle, and for the 2010 Dallas Cowboys things turned really bad. Dallas still pushed ahead 20-7, then gave up 31 unanswered points.
Yes the Giants win another game and so the question everyone in New York is now asking. is whether the Giants are the
top team in the N.F.C. It appears that their co-tenants in their new
stadium, the Jets, might be the class of the A.F.C. Only in New York kids, , , only in NY!

Giants Win in Coming out Party!
Eli Manning completed 20-of-30 passes for 263 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in the NFL season opener with a win over the Panthers.
Ahmad Bradshaw in his new starting position in the Giants vs Carolina Panthers rushed 20 times for 76 yards with a touchdown.
And when Brandon Jacobs wasnt on the sidelines cheering his G-Men on , he hit the field for 44 rushing yards on 12 carries and two catches for 21 yards. Jacobs showed that the hype the newscasters tried to blow out of proportion was just that pure BS-
The Giants wide receivers came to play as Steve Smith the Giants Pro Wide receiver that he is, caught five passes for 43 yards in Sunday's win over the Panthers. And Molto Mario who led the Giants in receiving yards as he caught four passes for 85 yards. But it was Hakeem Nicks who broke out with three touchdown catches. Watch for Nicks to be among Eli Manning's favorite targets each week.

New York Giants in 2010
Going into the 2009 NFL season, most people thought that Eli Manning would have a hard time without Plaxico Burress, but that did not happen for Eli had his best NFL statistical season and his interception numbers went down without Plaxico. And yes, Burress was a wide receiver who was played a huge role in the 2007 Giants Super Bowl win, the bottom line is that he was unreliable both on and off the field. In incarceration for his self-inflicted gunshot to the thigh proved that.
The New York Giants in 2009 believe the Giants wide receiver core to be one of the deepest and most talented in the NFL. Meanwhile, the defense obviously tanked, and heading into this season they are the unit with something to prove.
The ticket for the 2010 Giants is that they need to run the ball effectively. Two years ago, when the Giants finished 12-4, they led the league in rushing. Last year, when they finished 8-8, the Giants finished 17th in the league.
Giants Ticket bring Back the 3/4 D
Giants this year, need to to keep up a dynamic passing game, bring Steve Spagnuolo back, ok I know that is not happening but how about just go back to the 3/4 defense like it was under Spags, and keep the running game healthy… Can the Giants can get their groove back and head towards being a conender (and possibly another super bowl) While last season was difficult, the progression of Eli Manning w/ that young receiving core should give all of us Giants fans a lot of optimism coming into the 2010-2011 season.
Enough said.

NY Giants New Defensive Coordinator
Welcome Fewell
"NASCAR" is what The Giants highly touted new defensive coordinator is calling the formation of Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck, Mathias Kiwanuka and Jason Pierre-Paul. basically, the team’s speed-rushers, hence the “NASCAR” nickname.
One of Fewells new packages we will see come on the NFL season opener will be a “big base.” It includes three tackles on the field (# 99 Chris Canty DT, who will move to end) along with #94 Mathias Kiwanuka DE which will hopefully defend the run better, look for it as it could be used extensively against the Panthers Sunday.
As for the secondary, look for Fewell to go to more of a zone coverage than the 2009 Giants played. Maybe that will allow the defensive backs to face the ball instead of the receiver.
New York Giants Kenny Phillips To Start at Safety
New York Giants
2010 Safeties
CC Brown, Aaron Rouse are gone and Deon Grant, Antrel Rolle have been brought in to play for the Gianta in 2010. Michael Johnson is returning in good heatlh Kenny Phillips is also on the line up. With these football players on the team, this group will be a strength instead of a weakness. Please let this make a it a different season from last year's debacle.
Yes I do believe it will be a breathe of fresh air see Perry Fewell “ballhawking” philosophy in action.
Running Backs
New York Giants
Last season, both Brandon Jacobs (6 foot 4 inches) and Ahmad Bradshaw (5-foot-9) who both struggled with injuries as last year the Giants failed to register a 1,000-yard rusher for the first time after seven consecutive seasons. Jacobs rushed for 835 yards while banged up. Bradshaw and Jacobs' locker stalls are next to each other in the NY Giants locker room. I have read that these two are like brothers, ever since Bradshaw's arrival in 2007. And as the 2010 season is about to begin there has been a reverse of who is the starting running back. And yes it has been a bit hard for Jacobs to swallow this one.
"I don't envision anything," Jacobs said. "I come to work every day and work hard. Whatever happens, happens." New York Giants and their running backs, should be something to definitely stay tuned to.
