Updated on February 28, 2014

Try Something Different

Most summer vacations will be taken at a theme park, the mountains, or to the beach. If you and your family enjoy the outdoors, a camping trip could be the perfect adventure, especially if you map out your trip ahead of time.

Camping is a great way to spend time as a family, and many great campgrounds still exist all across the country. A camping vacation doesn't mean limiting yourself on the amount of interesting places you can visit.

Campgrounds are usually family oriented and offer a variety of activities for families with kids to participate in. Swimming pools, tennis courts, and indoor game rooms are among some of the activities that can be found. For more privacy and outdoor adventure, check out state parks.

Keep in mind the activities available for the entire family when choosing your vacation destination. Some outdoor activities that could be enjoyable for outings could include Boating, fishing, biking, and hiking are some excellent outdoor activities that could be enjoyable for everyone in your party. Check the age appropriate activities available to your family wherever you go, nobody wants a restless teenager who can't find anything to do.

Romantic Getaways

Camping is not only great for families, it is also ideal for couples. Whether you are a newlywed, or are in your golden years of marriage, Camping provides something for all age groups. Imagine camping under the stars with the one you love, and the romantic evenings that could make camping your favorite romantic outing.

Camping is inexpensive, this makes it a big plus in today's economy. Just imagine the places you would enjoy visiting if you could better afford the accommodations. Camping site fees are considerably less than the cost of a hotel room.

If the decision has been made to take a camping vacation, the next choice would be to decide if you will be using a tent or RV. If you have a camper make sure it is fully stocked before the trip. If using tents, and you have children, you may want one for you and your spouse and a separate one for the kids. If you have teens, tents for each child, may be best.

If you are new to camping, sit down and make a checklist of the things you will need for your trip. Avid campers probably already have plenty of gear for camping.

Hi a great hub. We enjoy going camping as well and we usually go to Shell Island up in North Wales.

I now look forward to reading more of your work.
