Your Favorite Sports in Olympics

Which of these are your favorite sports in Olympic Games?

See results

In a previous Hub, I have charted out the event wise results of Medals for only Athletics, Gymnastics, etc. It was a presentation for 4 sports items.

But, in this present article, I have provided you with all the detailed information of Medals won sports wise for the Top 10 Countries along with World Records and Olympic Records established by them during this season of Summer Olympics 2016.

At the end, I have given the information of World Records and Olympic Records set by all participants in the games not included in the Top 10 Countries.

Medals won by other participating countries or sports persons (not included in Top 10 Countries) is not provided as it will take much more space and it may become too lengthy a Hub. You may be aware that total medals awarded were more than 2000 in number. I have listed a total of 517 medals in all in the Top 10 Countries tally.

Please express your opinion about this work of mine so that I may know about your valued suggestions and any feedback.

That is a very thorough and interesting hub! I did enjoy watching the Olympics last year. I like the breakdown of the sports in the tables. That was very interesting to read.

Sorry to know you were injured and confined to home. I know it would be a great pleasure to watch those sportsmen live on grounds. But, watching on TV is also a great pleasant job. I always watch on TV only and enjoy it a lot. If you have a companion, you can share the pleasure even more.

Thanks for the visit and nice comment.

Very fascinating summary. I love the Olympics, and fortunately I was injured at the time and got to stay home and watch most of it on TV this time.

I wish we could have seen more cycling, however. Most of what I saw during the day was volleyball and beach volleyball. I don't know what the fascination with those sports is, but I could have done without it. Great hub.

Thank you, Devika, for your appreciating comment.

True that many people love these sports and watch them with great love. But, keeping some record of the highlights is also a hobby of many sports lovers.

Thank you, Larry. A statistical presentation provides a quick grasp of the whole thing in a nutshell. I have covered top 10 countries in all respects and a summary of the other record-breaking achievements so that all people can view their country's achievements quickly.

I think you have done an awesome job! You have highlighted so many different fields, countries and records. This in itself is an achievement and here I feel the spirit of the sport which this year I hardly watched. Kudos to you, my Friend.

Bill, thanks for the nice comment. Watching all these wonderful sports and enjoying them is a kind of great relief and acts as a healing when we are tense in our daily routine works. Viewing them in action and experiencing their performances and achievements is better than viewing other movies or stressful episodes.

Ruby, even I, myself, was unaware of such an accumulations of medals until I collected all this information at one place. Now, I hope anybody can look at these figures and wonder at the piling of medals by their beloved athletes and sportsmen.

Thanks for the visit and nice comment.

Your detail for each sport is top-notch. I was unaware that so many medals were won. I watched some of the events and was in awe at the dedication these athletes had. Your presentation is very good. Well done.
