The 2012 Showdown in the Pinstripe Bowl. Something special to behold!

The Pinstripe Bowl Committee must have leaped for joy when Louisville beat Rutgers and Cincinnati beat Connecticut at the end of this year college football season. With Syracuse in a 4 way tie for first place in the Big east, it made the Orange a lock for a battle in the Pinstripe against an old rival, West Va.

I can't imagine a more profitable circumstance for this Bowl Game. Big East, Acc, and Big 12 fans everywhere will tune in for what looks to be an epic battle.

December 29 at 3:15pm The Syracuse Orange will face the West Virginia Mountaineers, and battle for a different trophy. I am disappointed that the Syracuse University Athletic Department is refusing to put the Schwartzwalder Trophy up for grabs in this game. i thought the reasoning was weak at best. But, the Pinstripe Trophy is prestigious in it's own right. Besides who doesn't like any excuse to beat an old rival?

My pick-

Though the Mountaineers have had a tough schedule this season and stayed with some great teams, they happen to struggle in bowl games much more than Syracuse does. I see S.U. taking home another trophy when the win this one by 3 points. The Orange made a big statement by finishing the season strong, and will not want to spoil their winning streak.
