These are some questions that are left to be answered as of this time, but the road to glory will surely be bumpy as each team tries to pounce on any advantages to pull through one game at a time, one series at a time.

The teams that advances into the playoffs are Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, Philadelphia Sixers and Indiana Pacers of the Eastern Conference and San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakes, Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trailblazers, New Orleans Hornets and Memphis rounds out the Western Conference.

Gone in the playoffs are the Cleveland Cavaliers which made it as far as the Eastern Conference Finals last season, Utah Jazz which is a perennial playoffs team, Phoenix Suns which used to be one of the tough squads in the west, Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets.

Which team will reign supreme? Take your pick...
Which team will reign supreme? Take your pick...

Here are the top contenders in the 2011 NBA Playoffs

Teams to watch in the East

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls and Spurs surprised everybody by finishing on top of their respective conference. The Bulls which brags a young lineup yet teeming with enormous talents tries to embrace glory once again.

The young guns of the Bulls will try to prove that their first place finish in the regular season wasn't s fluke. Spitfirish Derrick Rose, granite-chinned Loul Deng, Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah, and Taj Gibson are expected to provide their respective shares to the playoffs quest of the team. Since the team snared the pole position in the east, the other teams’ will be keeping their eye on them and aching to pull them down to earth.

Will the Bulls live out with their billing as the top in their conference? That remains to be seen as soon as they enter the tougher second round of the playoffs and they are seemed prepared for the uptake since they have a deep bench to rely on.

Miami Heat

The Heat created too much noise with acquisition of highly- touted players in the preseason tries to makes it presence felt in the playoffs. The Heat is headed by electrifying and high-scoring LeBron James, Josh Howard and longtime resident Dwayne Wade will try to lead the playoffs drive of the Heat.

The very talented triumvirate of James, Wade and Howard is determined to cast fears on the opposing teams. The Heat are also one of the top favorites in playoffs and if they have the chemistry they needed they will surely give the opposing teams a tough time.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics which is considered to be the most experienced team in the West will attempt to give other teams a run for their money. With versatile Garnett and veteran Shaquille O’Neal patrolling the center, Rajon Rondo taking good care of his chores in the backcourt and Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Glen Davis providing solid support, the Celtics for sure will be one of the crack teams to beat in the playoffs. Additionally the Celtics are well experienced just like the Lakers in the playoffs and they are truly a dangerous team to contend with.

Orlando Magic

The Magic team should not be discounted as they are capable pulling of upsets over the higher ranked teams in the lead. Defensive-minded Dwight Howard, swingmen Hedo Turkoglu , Quentin and Jason Richardson, Gilbert Arenas and Jameer Nelson will spearhead the playoffs bid of the Magic. The team’s depth and enormous talents makes the Magic quintet a potent threat to the other teams as well.

Teams to watch in the West

San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs is the exact opposite of the Bulls which has seasoned players that forms the team. Veteran players like center Tim Duncan, prolific and savvy scorers Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, Antonio McDyess and George Hill will try to justify their first place ranking in the playoffs.

An efficient and offensive-minded team the Spurs are ready to mix it up in the playoffs and with coach Greg Popovich calling the shots in the bench the Spurs are a fearsome adversaries.

Los Angeles Lakers

The real game starts as soon as the playoffs emerges. The playoffs is an arena where men are separated from the boys. The league’s premier player Kobe Bryant just knows how to get the job done since he already compiled numerous accomplishments and accolades already. Though the title bid hinges on his shoulders superb performance from his teammates are needed as well.

Bryant will try to bring together his troop and pounce on their advantage in the court which is their enormous playoffs experience. The Lakers are cinched to show their true might and strength in the playoffs as Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol, Derek Fisher and Andrew Bynum will be back in harness to spread terror in the wooden floor and will try to snare another championship to hug the spotlight once again.

Dallas Mavericks

Mavericks are well-known to choke under pressure in their previous appearances in the playoffs. Will their line-up Tyson Chandler, Jason Terry, Dirk Nowitzki Carron Butler, Brandon Haywood and Jason Kidd turn the table on their favor and put an end to the jinx that hobbled them in the past. This is remain to be seen aslo as the playoffs progresses.

Oklahoma City

The youngest team in the league again gatecrashes into the playoffs this in a smashing fashion as they copped the Northwest division. The team will once again depend on the core of the team which is comprised of younger and exciting players. Kevin Durant will once attempt to lead his team pull out some measure of pride and pull out another surprise.

It will be tough to get past the heavy favorites in the playoffs which are the Lakers, Heat, Celtics, Bulls and Spurs but the ball is round and upset is not a remote possibility.

The other teams that made it to the playoffs are also capable of pulling shocking reversals on their favored opponents though the odds are stacked on them. The trick to get past higher ranked team is to steal a game in the road and preserve their home court advantage. Easier said than done eh, but this is also.

The playoffs will surely make another history and provide a great entertainment on the part of the viewers.

Which team is your pick in the playoffs that will win the 2011 NBA Championships? Your pick is as good as mine.
